Sorry to hear about your loss. I am going through the same thing on my end. We found out Friday that my wifes grandmother passed away. It was a shock to all of us and it has been really hard on my family. My two young ones don't understand and they want their Grammy... It kills me every time they cry for her....

You're welcome dude, it was fun and it was something new for me to do.. It's easy to take out and put it in the coils, but it's nervewracking to put the nuts back on. Me and Phil, can talk and debate about RX-8's for a while.. We are also a little hard headed about a few things that we can't both agree on, but that's what makes it fun/interesting to talk with Phil.

8 years, 100,000 mi extended warranty.
CONFIRMED FROM SERVICE DEPARTMENTS AT MULTIPLE DEALERS
====================

Dear Mazda Dealer:

Mazda Motor Corporation is extending the warranty coverage on Rotary Engine Core Components on all 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 model year RX-8 vehicles. The warranty coverage for the Rotary Engine Core Components is extended to 8 years (96 months) from the original warranty start date, with a 100,000 mileage limitation.

The following is a list of components covered by this warranty:

This is not a recall. This is a warranty extension for the specified parts only. Inspection and replacement of non-failed parts will not be eligible for reimbursement to the dealer or customer. This program extends the warranty period for actual failures due to defects in workmanship or materials in accordance with Mazda Warranty Policy and Procedures.

EDIT: (scans from commodude23)

This should be the last time I post this notice - This time Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday we should be out on the lake water sking and drinking beer.

As far as I know, this is the next scheduled meet:

Las Vegas Cottonwood Cove Meet
I do have a party boat & jet ski boat so there would be enough boats for a small group. My idea is to take a weekend consisting of Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and clean up on Monday at Cottonwood Cove on Lake Mohave. I would like to keep this among the members only (it could get out of hand).

DIRECTIONS:
For those of you who may not know where Lake Mohave is or Cottonwood Cove are - Just drive toward Boulder City, turn to follow signs to Searchlight (Needles, Laughlin) on Highway 93, turn left at the sign in Searchlight (Cottonwood Cove Road) drive an additional 12 miles to reach the park.

Rules that will apply:
1. If you drink then you can't operate any of my water craft. You can ride but not drive.
2. You must supply your own legal flotation devise (vest or equal) and you must have one to even ride in a boat. Inexpensive ones available at Walmart or Bass Pro Shop.
3. Children are welcome but must be managed by their parents and will wear their foliation devices at all times when in or on a watercraft. Small children are welcome on the deck boat but discouraged from the jet ski boat. Please see rules in main posting.
4. I don't want to be a policeman or your guardian but when using, riding upon, riding in any water craft my word will be law. I don't want any one hurt on my watch.
5. I do have water skis, singles and doubles and all are welcome to use them. Remember that alcohol and water don't mix to well. Your welcome to bring some of your own equipment.
6. Each person attending will supply their own food, drink and camping equipment - I will pay for the fuel to operate all the water craft but may require some assistance filling them up. I will also pay for a boat slip or slips to dock at so daily assistance with the boats will be kept to a minimum.
7. We will have one docking space for the deck boat. Someone could sleep on the deck boat if need be as there is a lot of space on the boat (ask Jason). If there is room at the dock I will park the other boat there otherwise I will need assistance taking it out of the water daily.
8. My partners asked me not to bring the jet skis because of liability if someone gets hurt. So currently there will be two boats available. Jet skis can be rented in Searchlight if you wish.

OK THE DATE FOR THE COTTONWOOD COVE CAMPING, BOATING AND FUN TIME IS SET. JUNE 5,6,7,8,9 ARE THE DAYS OF THE MEET. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE THERE FOR ALL THE DAYS BUT I WILL BE THERE AND HAVE THE BOATS AVAILABLE DURING THOSE DAYS
More to follow on this trip - now is the time to ask your questions.

For those of you wishing to come to the Cottonwood Cove meet, presently the following are available.
1. Dirt camping at the camp sites are on a first come first serve basis. Can't tell if they will be full. If full you can camp on the day beach we will use as our central point but you are stuck there after dark.
2. There are currently 17 spots open for full service RV spots (I will be in one of these in my motor home)
3. There are small motel rooms available for that weekend if you would like. The resort has no internet connection and rentals are only by phone. See WWW.CottonwoodCove.com for phone numbers.
4. There may be a small ($5.00) fee for entering the park. The park service may charge $3-$5 per night to camp at the marina area. All other questions will be answered by PM

hmm about that warranty. does that mean the transmission would still only be covered for the 60k miles?

i have recently discovered that when the car is cool (right at the beginning of the morning) i have the "sand in a can" sound coming from my tranny. and only at 3.5k miles i hope my trans will last

Tranny only covered to 50,000 - the 60,000 was for the engine and now the 100,000 is just for the engine. Too bad.

I'm not asking for her weight, that's what girls don't like.. There is nothing wrong with asking about the age.

Cancel it. There is nothing that The Rotary Doctor cannot fix, 'cept if your engine dies.
