Installed Clear Bra

I just had my new clear bra installed and it looks great (see Pic) I used these guys in Torrance:
Envisage Design Labs
Transparentbra.com
(310) 787-7544
toll free (866) 335-3456

There is also an installer in Orange called Ultimate auto care. The cost is about $600.

I plan on stopping by the Orange County RX8 meeting this coming Saturday, if you want to stop and see it.

How much was it installed?

Did you just do the hood, fender, and mirror, or did you do the entire front bumper as well?

Thanks.

I had the front bumper, lights, hood, and side mirrors done. The cost is for the 3M materials and labor. The materials were about $500 alone.

Think I'd rather just get a normal bra for under $100. By the way, how do you remove the Clearbra?

The clear bra does not have to be removed everytime your car is washed or gets wet. If you need to remove it sometime in the future - I understand a hot air gun is used. It remindes me a little of window tinting.

The clearbra doesn't ruin the look of your car -- if you are going to buy one the most beautiful cars on the planet -- why would you want to cover it with a black piece of cheap vinyl

I'm getting a clearbra installed too, in 3 days. Since I got my car last week, I've barely driven it in order to minimize the possibility of rocks or other road debris that may initially chip the paint.

That was one learning I had with my last car - after a few months I really noticed all the little chips and dings on the front of the car, and how it marred the paint job. People told me 'there's nothing you can do about it, it's a car'; but, I had a friend who had one installed late last year, and the area where the clearbra is applied still looks beautiful. This is despite winter driving on freeways and surface streets, where our county uses chemicals and gravel on the roads on snowy days.
I've also heard that using a vinyl bra introduces the possibility of getting a little rock inside it and causing scratching.

The vinyl bra (I own and use) is a piece of cake to get on and off. It takes about 5 minutes total both ways. The fender skirt screws are replaced with snap screws in four places (maybe it's three -- no I think it's four).

I'd rather have cheap REAL protection that I can easily remove AND replace. What do you do when your clear bra starts to look like hell (like my vinyl one will over time)?

For local around-town driving I leave it off. If I'm going 100 miles+ (especially highway driving), I put it on.

If you're not going to spring $600 for the clear bra -- trust me, you'll find times when you'll want to snap the vinyl one on! Worth owning...

If my clearbra starts to look like hell, I suppose I'll have to go have it removed, probably at some additional cost. I'm glad you said something, I'll have to ask about that when I have it applied.

And if that happens I'll post a rant about it here to warn people. (The internet can be a powerful tool!)

Thumbs up future look of clear bra.......

If you wax(most prefer zaino) or 303 (www.303products.com) it regularly, the shine on the bra should last the life of the vehicle; unless 'clear vinyl' was used as the material for the clear bra. In that case, after a year or so of neglect, it'll turn dull like shower curtains. Also keep in mind that on a white color car, the clear bra will gradually becomes more visible if you don't clean and wax it regularly. That's why I would rather work on a black(the hardest color to install the bra) car then a white one :D

just type in 'clear bra' or 'paint protection film' on google.com and you'll find numerous sellers

uh, no, I tried that, it only comes up with resellers of installation services, not the bulk materials.

if it were that easy, I wouldn't be asking...

Squidward,

Try www.rockblocker.com for bulk material purchase. They have both 3M & Venture Tape 8mm films available in various sizes for custom jobs. Their price is very good along with excellent customer service. I was going to purchase the paint/headlight protection kit for RX8 from them, but am going to get a Xpel's installer to do the work instead due to complexity and schedule.

If you do end up ordering from them, please tell them that Steve, a RX8 owner on NASIOC board referred you.

Hey guys, thought i would pass this info along to the sac area folks. Anyone interested in having a clear bra installed? I have some venture shield film that has been siting for a while and i want to put it to use. Im willing to let it go for cheap. If you need a custom job i can do that too.
