Humboldt County, CA and surrounding counties

I lived in Eureka, CA for 16 years. Since moving to the St. Louis, MO area is when I bought my 8. I am just curious as to how many 8 owners are on the forum from that area and also what has been going on in that area? Moved away in 1998 but will be coming back for my 10 year high school reunion before long.

After posting this....makes me wonder if I should move back to Eureka. Could be the the only 8 in the tri-county area. Hmmm...so tempting.

Humboldt County

You would not be the only 8 in the Eureka area but there are not many of us that I can tell. And I may be the only one on this forum. Of course you can see that this may very well be my first post also.

As far as I know, there is my winning blue which I purchased 6 months ago, an '05 Shinka, probably two Titaniums, one which I have seen a number of times, one VR for sure with a recent sighting by my wife of another brand new VR, several sightings of another winning blue and one sighting of a white.

As far as I know those are the only sightings.

Humboldt Co. is growing up. Logging is way down, fishing is almost completely done in, and tourism is about the only thing growing, except for the pot of course. Just read an article saying this years CAMP program has been much more productive than ever before. Politics are also about as rancourous as the rest of the country now also. A local Millionaire is trying to build a Home Depot along with a Marina Center on the old ballon tract which has divided the county folks into two very extreme camps. Several years ago when Wal-Mart tried to build the place almost became explosive. Oh Well, so much for the good old days.

However, when you visit for your reunion, you will still pretty much recognize the place. Hope you have a good time when yu return.

Cheers

Hey Buffalo,

Congrats on your purchase. Hope you grow to love it, I love mine. Also nice to know I wasn't shouting into an empty crowd. Sounds like I would be the only two-tone, and also the only black or yellow 8 out there. Mine was originally yellow and added the black stripe with silver pin striping.

I remember hearing about the whole Wal-Mart uproar. Last time I remember, the closest Wally World was up in Crescent City? Why doesn't it surprise me that pot is growing strong out there, lol. That'll never change. Hope all goes well with you, the wife, and the 8.

Until next post....

Sounds like only two Humboldt County affiliates here. Buffalo who still lives in the area...and myself, a relocated native. So sad!!!
