I didn't get a chance to check out anyone else's ride very much 'cause I was too busy chasing my kids around!

Were you at the meet? Did you drive a different car? We were all talking about your car. How's it doing?

Yep, I was there. Velocity Red, 2 tone interior, GReddy. It's still running like krap.

Mine was the titanium next to the yellows. I have the full INGS+1 kit. It was a great turn out, and nice to meet everyone. I agree we should do it again in a few months.

I'm in for sure. Not many NorCal 8s on the WC Caravan to SS7 (lots of 7s though) but hopefully there will be a bigger turnout this year. So come on, this is a great event.

Talk to thedosdog, he went down last year, he recommends getting tickets to the sevenstock banquet, they sell out quick.

PSM: even though I wasn't there, thanks for hosting, free food and what sounds like really nice prizes. However I have one question: it appears you installed Sapphonica's greddy turbo kit for him, it has a broken wastegate and runs poorly. Why didn't you catch that during the post-install shakedown test? This is not meant as a flame but as an honest question that potential customers would benefit from learning the answer to.

Not a broken wastegate. I've been able to diagnose some of the problems.

First, the boost controller cable was not plugged into the E01. I traced the cable through the firewall, found it bundled together with a bunch of other wires, snipped a few of the ties, routed it through the console & into the E01.

The second problem was that there are 2 identical connectors/cables for the GReddy hydraulic to electrical converter that senses boost, one of which goes to the eManage & the other to the E01. Only one was plugged in (to the eManage). Plugging in the E01 meant unplugging the eManage, which put the car in Limp mode. Just to make sure, I traced both cables all the way to the eManage/E01 to make sure they hadn't been spliced together somewhere else. So, I cut the plugs, twisted together & soldered the wires, then plugged it back in. Now the signal goes to both the eManage & E01.

There is a plastic shroud that is hanging loose under the car. I slid under the car to figure out why & found that there are some missing bolts. Since I don't have the bolts, I can't fix this myself.

The car now appears to be running stock boost. The E01 does not seem to be affecting the waste gate operation, but that might be due to me having the vacuum tubing hooked up wrong on the boost control solenoid. Benny at GReddy told me to run the wastegate tube to COM, and I routed the pressure side as he instructed me (either to NO or ON...don't remember which).

That sounds even less encouraging, although it's good to hear you're making progress. So not only did the installer not do a shakedown test, he lost some plastic fasteners, might have connected the vacuum tubing incorrectly and didn't connect the boost controller. The first two could be careless mistakes but the last one sounds intentional. "Hey, I have an extra connector here. I wonder where it goes? Ah, forget it; I'll just tuck it away and maybe it won't hurt anything."

I am going to withhold judgement until I talk to them to see what they'll do to make me whole. I know the guy that was doing my install had some bad stuff going on in his personal life, so that might have distracted him. From what I've seen, they normally do good work.

Please keep us informed regarding what happens. I really think good customer service isn't what a company does when everything goes right, but what they do to make up for something that goes wrong.
