As a rough estimate (and to use if calculating payments), tax and license will be about 10% of the purchase price.

So add approx. $2,800 to the cost of the car and options and that should give you an estimate of the out the door cost...

Isn;t Galpin the dealer that modifies their cars to make custom show cars? Yeah....i saw their add in DuPont Registry, they were advertising a 2004 RX-8 called "Sunfire" with custom everything! It was sooo hot!

I just bought my Red RX 8 GT ( on April 24th, my Birthday), 6 spd, Aero package from Galpin via a friend who is an Auto Broker in Arizona. It has everything my heart desires, loaded and I got it for $31,520. Galpin obviously did it for quite a bit less then what the local (Tucson) Mazda dealer could, even when they discounted it, so I am very happy with the deal. I paid $1750 for state taxes and @$500.00 for reg,tag etc. So it came in at $33,400 off the lot. I just completed the Mazda survey they sent to me for Galpin and could not answer many of the dealer survey questions, but rate them highly on price alone.

Reason for you $4k rebate was probably the window sticker. Your car probably had the HP rated to high (like it really matter, it's the same car). Mazda couldn't replace the WS, so they wanted to clean out the cars fast. Good buy on your part.
