I was wondering if someone in the san diego area might have the oem retaining cap removal tool i might be able to borrow.

i used a pair of large mouth channel lock pliers.
they opened up pretty wide so i was able to get
the pliers around olmost half of the ring.

 

I had it off last week but broke a part so kind of rigged it back together to get to work but now replacing it. More wanted the tool to torque it down when i get it back together. Also broke off quite a few of the tabs but it's not leaking now so i must have gotten it tight enough.
