no you dumbass, it was originally written to help protect the lives of our peace officers. How would you like to be on patrol, pull over a car, be walking up to it and have NO CLUE as to whether it's an old lady or a guy reloading his 9mm.

Honestly, like kwescott stated, for the most part it depends on the area.
Diamond Bar, Riverside, Mira Mesa... hot "ricer" areas like those you'll more likely get cops willing to pull over anyone and anything that may even be a hint of unlawfulness.
This is just a big DUH isn't it? So then, why are people still posting on this useless thread?

You must have been a pretty terrible business owner then. Straight up, it's illegal to have ANY tint whatsoever on front windows in California.

if i was a cop, id have given you a ticket too...

im runnin with tint, but only 35 on the front windows and 20 on the rear and sides..

cops need to be able to see into the car if they have to pull it over...too many cops are gettin shot...

i have never gotten stopped in the 3 years ive had tint...

and you need to have a little more respect for them...they might save your life one day
Wow. You may have "only" 35 on the front windows, but try living in a real state like CA where you can't have ANY tint on your front. You're still reducing the cop's visibility when he pulls you over with 35. Plus, for the average person, a cop probably won't ever end up saving your life. Especially patrol officers who spend their days posted up looking for people going 80 on the freeway and nailing every person who rolls a stop sign at an empty intersection.

Now I agree with tinting laws only because if we didn't have them, every gangbanger in LA would be rolling around with quad zero limo tint on every window, shooting cops left and right and doing drug deals in their car.

In California it's legal to have up to 70 on the front windows. Now whether that's even worth the effort or not is another story, but it still is considered a tint.

As I read the law a few days ago, having tint on your driver and passenger windows is illegal as well as the windshield, but you can have any color tint you like on the back and rear side windows as long as you have 2 rear view mirrors. Otherwise limo tint would be illegal.

Thank God I live in Arizona.
20% front windows, anything on the rear side and rear windows.
7"strip 5% on the windshield.
