Smile Cheap Fun! Streets of Willow, Aug 12-13th

We decided that we have enough interest to go for this event at the Streets of Willow in Rosamond Calif. on the weekend of August 12th and 13th. Cost is $150 for one day, $275 for both days, and includes, as always, catered lunches, Gatorade and bottled water, healthy snacks, instruction, and lots of track time!. Just think . . . fun, tight 1.8 mile (what I fondly call a "big giant autocross") course to really put your car to the test and greatly improve your personal high performance driving skills! Registration and tech forms are on the website at http://www.onemain.com/~bonster/schedule.html

We got this event at the last minute and need to cover some expenses quickly, so PayPal might be a good way to get the money over quickly (use bonni@weatherwax.net for the contact). Be a little spontaneous, treat yourself to some good ol' fashioned track time. See you there!

Absolutely, this would be a great venue for you, buwisit! We have instructors staffed to assist you, and the Streets of Willow is one of the best tracks to get your feet wet on. This was my second ever track when I started out, and I must say, it helped me a lot. In fact, it wasn't until I visited the Streets that I had enough nerve to go to Sears Point.

No problem, buwisit, all track-safe cars are more than welcome to join us, and a BMW definitely fits in that category.

Sorry poorman that you apparently can't make it. I know how you feel -- I can't get out to many events, either. But keep saving up those pennies, you'll be able to go to a track day soon, I'm sure. As the old addage says, "All great things come to those who wait." Hang in there.

***A stock RX-8 is no problem. In fact, it is preferred if you have limited or no experience on a racetrack. Unfortunately, though, this particular track does not rent out helmets. This must be the only track in the western US that doesn't. If you don't have a helmet, nor a friend who can loan one to you (that fits), check out www.racerwholesale.com They have great prices on their G-Force helmets, and they are good helmets. I have one and I love it. Great fit, and just as good as competitior's helmets (just maybe a tiny bit heavier).
