Anyone going to WekFest at Fort Mason in SF this Sun., Feb. 19? Bay Bridge is closed, so we're going over the San Rafael and GG Bridges. We'll be leaving from Pleasant Hill/ Concord if anyone wants to caravan. Maybe meet at Sun Valley Mall around 12:30...

I would like to check out this wekfest, but I need to remove my alternator. Hate to admit this but I'm stuck on removing it, hope I can get some help. I got everything unbolted but I can't disconnect the alternator connector on top of it with the plastic clip. How do I get it off???? Did some research on this on some DIY'ers but they don't explain exactly how to remove it.

Have you tried calling the local Mazda dealer/ service dept., or checking a service manual? Knock wood- haven't had to do mine thus far...

no need, I figured it out. Not a single auto parts store in my area has an alternator for my 8. I had to wait a few hrs to have it special delivered to a store. Dropped it and bolted it up but now the battery was too low to start and getting it charged.
We are long over due for a good RX8 Club Gathering. Anyone want to meet the First Friday evening in March or Saturday? I see there are more RX 8's in the Contra Costa Area. Seen a Red, Yellow, 5 different Black RX8's and a few TI Grey ones.
so, I finally got my alternator bolt on, battery charged and now it won't start. Starter turns over but the RPM needle doesn't budge. I think I flooded it because Friday morning when I was able to start it, all the warning lights came on, radio was in and out and headlights did not work. I shut it down immediately without thinking about it. Now, am I right in thinking its flooded?
Heres a link I did on my car when it got flooded and the second link is how i found out how to DIY link on deflooding procedure. Good luck bro and hope this helps and see all of you at the GTG when they start up again. My son and I can't wait.
Let's do Saturdays if possible. Friday traffic is a beezy around here and I am sure everyone can agree on that. I have also noticed more RX8's on 880 through Fremont and San Jose area and also 237 between 880 a to 85. I've seen a blue 8 with smoked head lights and tail lights. If anyone noticed me out there, I am the one with a TG blacked out rims, hood and roof top.

Hopefully I will go to the one next year.
