Damn that sucks.
I got lucky and spun out in the rain and just went up a curb.
Only damaged 2 rims and everything was straight and still aligned. The gods were watching.

Side not does anyone know or have a good OBD II scanner software that is good.
I have the tool cord with USB but the free software blows...

Its with a claims team to figure out if its totaled or not. IF, it is.. Then theres 2 options:

Take the $8k - $10k check they give me and they sell it an auction and someone takes it and fixes it and sell it as a salvage title (w/ lemon title too)

Or buy it back with a less valuable check for my loss and make my mom mad as it just sits there in the way and in her space, trying to part out as much as I can.

There isnt too much interest in the thread I posted in the West section if someone wanted to buy the car from me IF I bought it back and wanted to part it out or make use of the engine.

So.. I might just take the check and forget about it, but I would have loved to part it out

ya know how we have those retarded visors/mirrors in our car? the ones that are supposed to block out the sun but have holes in them? mannn mine is retarded. so when you push it into its spot it like snaps in right? well i broke the snappy part... stupid plastic... -___- i am sad.

dude you should just take the check. honestly. cut your losses. your insurance is gonna go up too so youre better off just taking what you can. no one will look down on you for not keeping the 8. come to the meets nayway. haha be like the mr. vtec

oh god mr v- sticking out like a sore thumb -tec. screw that. I might buy an FD. I got a good enough job. And there is no point in keeping the wreck, imo.. But half the car is in perfect shape though... Although I think my accident really tweaked it all up.. Like I did salvage my LED interior lights and swapped the old lights back in, and when I got to the glovebox, it opened up, but, then it wouldnt close.. which is odd. Had to slam it shut.. Felt bad..

Anyways, since I'm going on vacation on Tuesday morning, I hope they give me the call before noon tomorrow if they total it, cuz I'll ask if I can grab my aftermarket parts that I put on after I got the car.

Stealth side markers, license plate, and my spoiler lolz

And I'll still come to meets. I'm not going to be like those people who get the car, come on, and once their's is totaled, sold, stolen, etc.. They go off the radar.. I'm not like that

Sorry to hear about your RX 8 man, I would take the check and look for another RX8 at car domain or graigslist you can find another RX 8 for under $10,000.00 just shop around. Salvage what you can out of it, if they ask just tell them it was lost in the accident, take out any custom Stereo upgrades, all they will be looking for is stock stuff anyhow. Just don't make it look too obvious. Good luck and hope everything works out for you. "Tom"

oh crap, I forgot my Bass dial under the steering wheel too, thanks for reminding me..

but yeah, I'm not sure if I'll be able to get back into an RX8 right now.. With them being both a sports car, and newer cars, thats high insurance.. Compared to an RX7, sporty, but old, and thats what insurance companies look at, the car, and the year. Thats why my mom's new 2010 Mazda 5 costs the same insurance as our 2000 Cadillac..

again, maybe I'll have a miracle and it will be repairable.. If thats the case, then wow, I'm never going to be too hard on the corners anymore, no matter how fun it'd be.. I only put 5,000 miles on that car too, I hardly got to enjoy her

ohhh fasho. get an FD! thatd be cool. i almost wish i had bought an FD at first, but my mom wanted a "more convenient" car therefore 4 seats. Who knows though, i still wanna trade in my car and buy a vette. The money im pouring into it is telling me to keep it though. :[

-$800 on new tires
-$1200 for a new cat :[

what kind of tires? mine cost $700.. Which may have slipped out from under me, due to cleaning complications..
But yeah man, an FD.. zomg. I might have to buy a manual for once though, since they dont have sport shift, darn

I want to try to get an FD if its relatively within my insurance budget.. It is an old car after all.. Otherwise, I really want an early 90s Protege AWD hatch

me too. the thing that snaps the uhmm visor to the car broke off yesterday. i mean it sits there fairly fastened but it bothers me knowing that its technically broken. :[ uhhh i got bridgestones. originally like 260ish and got them for 170 cause my mom's friend works at wheel works. gotta go to the dealer friday to get them to replace the dam keyless entry stuff. i hate having to lock my door by key.

AHH SUNNY WEATHER TO WASH OR TO NOT WASHH MY CAR!?
