Well create a poll to see when people are available, and vote on a location and time. Wed or Thurs night works out for me, but perhaps not others. I'm in bed by 9, so I probably wouldn't even stay very long. I don't want to be the only one holding up everyone from meeting, but at the same time, Fri/Sat nights is a bad meeting time.

just curious but, why fork out all the cash for a nice expensive JDM rear bumper, then cheap out by going with a visionauto front? After you get it modified to look like a lotus will it make that much of a difference?

well...that front end is the only front end that matches best to the white concept 8. do you know of a better place to get that same shape bumper?

white concept 8- isn't it a modified mazdaspeed front? custom carbonfiber lip and small accents here and there. pair it up with ms sides and fabulous rear bumper and you're done.

yeah....that would be the easy way. concept 8 has the visionautodynamics front bumper look, where the sides are indented slightly, and im thinking autoexe sides. i started a auto metal fabrication class at city college...gonna try to make ti exhaust (way later) and make my rear diffuser. If I just went with the setup you mentioned. I dont think it would look very unique. Since my car represents me. anyway, i just think that since I havent seen anyone do it my way, i want to try it

first post...

i just picked up a used 2004 rx-8 last thursday. wanted to say hi to everyone. im not looking to mod too much but would like some basics. ive got a well modded wrx so im not looking for performance gains but i have some questions:

1. 225's kinda suck, will 235's fit the stock wheels? i'd rather not stagger.
2. is there anything that helps with reliability, early warnings, etc. is the oil pressure gauge accurate? stiffer bars/springs? the front feels a bit soft for my taste.
3. any local meets/drives i should know about? i live in dublin.

1) Many have 245 on the stock rims with np, you should be fine with that.
2) There really isn't a pressure gauges, its just a switch, on and off. If your needle does not move to the same position, you have problems. As far as suspension, sway bars make a big diff on this car. Some good springs or coilovers help too.
3) There is a thread going on about Bay Area local meets, that should answer your questions. We are still trying to agree on a location and date, so vote and voice your opinion.

Yup, well, welcome to the club! Glad to have you aboard. I wonder, do you go to the iclub meets on tuesday nights at union landing by any chance?

ignition coils ??

Sorry for the change of topic but has anyone on the forums upgraded their ignition coils yet? And, if so, were there any complications with that installation?

If not that route, has anyone bought or installed the HKS DLI-II, its what I was going to go with instead of brand new ignition coils. does anyone have that installed on any of their 8's in the bay?

still contemplating this addition.

alex

Hey Alex,

Contact forum member Bindon. He works for Pettit racing, and I believe they are working on something. I could be wrong, but its worth a try.

ya i went for about a year atleast once a month... on a side note, i just got my first ticket in the rx8. which is funny because i got it because it was more mellow than the scoob, which i havent gotten a ticket in about a year and a half in.

I'd want to be there just for the learning experience... for when I get enough money to get my own MS shocks.

i've done done this twice, not great at it but I be willing to lend a helping hand. But suspension is something that I learned is better kept to professionals.
