Hey, a quick heads up guys before I start singing the Sesame Street song.

I got swoop and squatted today on my way back from work on the 880 nb.

So what happens is, 2 guys pull up in the lane to your right. One guy boxes you into your lane, and the guy in front merges into your lane real quick and hits the brakes really really hard.

The idea is to get you to rear end them and collect on insurance.

I was lucky and was already in the process of braking when the guy in front of me slammed his brakes. So between that, my superior stopping power, larger manhood and general luck, I missed him by inches.

Called CHP and got the license plate of one car, but they can't really do ****. The officer did say they've been seeing a LOT of these in the past couple of months. So a heads up.

Superior stopping power man. Stock 8 brakes and tires. I had my Cusco's set to 2, but I doubt that really helped.

 

Guys who do the swoope to other cars are pussies. Real scammers do it to big rigs. Tons of insurance and they pay immediatley. of course you run the risk of getting crushed, but it's worth it for the money.

 

Hey guys, I'm planning to do some development with Shaikh over at FatCatMotorsports in San Jose in terms of possibly converting the Bilstein HDs to coilovers for the RX-8. He needs to look at a RX-8 for development and it's a little hard for me to ship my car to him. I'm wondering if anyone near San Jose will be able to take a little bit of time to let him look over the car. Would be especially useful if that RX-8 has a stock suspension. Thanks.

laythor, I'll talk to Shaikh and see if he wants to test your car. The Mazdaspeed setup in some ways might be a better baseline than the stocker, but we'll see.
