Nope no flash!!! He saw a misfire in rotor 2, and a crank shaft timing error. He reset the ECU, no flash, and ran the car. All the problems cleared but if it comes on again it might be the coils or the cat. When the CEL blinks its the cat he said. Then firestone to change the brakes and resurface the rotors, labor only $125. No too bad of a day...

How many miles do you have on your plugs David? I probably should be changing my plugs soon as I'm coming up on 26,000 miles. It's debatable whether I want to spring for new coils as well; but I spend so much on preventative maintenance for the car (my special oil, premix, Mazda Millenia radiator cap, Mazmart water pump, Mazsport fan mod, coolant flush coming up soon, Motul RBF 600 fluid - should probably flush that again too, frequent transmission and differential oil changes, and will change the transmission boots next time I do the tranny oil) and that money shares a pool with the mod fund. More maintenance = less mods.
My friend from Cornell visited over the weekend and we rented an Outback to show him some roads. It was certainly the most canyon roads I've ever driven in one day. Plus, at the end of the day we drove the sheer insanity of Tuna Canyon Rd. in my RX-8.

I have 37k, but I changed my plugs at 30k, my coils are still good, and I didn't want to change them. I'll probably change them at 50k and the plugs again as well. I am doing a tranny flush ay Hayward MAzda for 59.99 and a coolant flush for 29.99. I just need to buy my own oil for the tranny.
I see that you are still enjoying the roads. I think the roads down there are a lot more fun and more of them.
