So do you guys ever go on any scenic drives? If so where? There are some great roads up here near Napa, there are alot of cops but it could still be fun.

there are a lot of scenic areas in the bay area, if you want the longest but best one.. highway 1. just a drive, no need to be an a$$ and try to canyon run you know? haha, after what happened last time (8 flipped over during a run), im not down to do it unless its surely secure and official if you get my drift..

I've found that the roads up here either have too many bicyclists or are too rough. I miss LA terribly...

I know what you mean about the bicyclists they are everywhere. I have no problem sharing the road but the other day i was driving and there were two cyclists riding next to eachother, one was riding in the center of the lane. Kind of rude and a pain when your just trying to go for a drive.

which reminds me...

a couple fridays ago i got a flat tire. i lost pressure in under 30 seconds and was able to pull over safely. i spent about 10 mins trying to find the spare tire. do they really expect people to use jug-o-fix-a-flat to fix a blow out type situation? so i called mazda roadside assistance (basically AAA) and they told me theyd tow my car in to the dealership and give me a rental. this was friday at 7pm. because i was on the side of the highway a few feet from traffic, they said i was a priority and should be picked up within 30 mins. i wasnt picked up until 8:15pm and the tow truck guy had no clue (or atleast wanted to give that impression) that i was to be towed to the dealership. so he insisted he tow my car to storage and it will be looked at on monday.

flat tire + friday night + mazda roadside assistance = WAIT UNTIL MONDAY?!?

it doesnt end there.

so i call on monday to make sure my car got there. nope. not only that, but they dont have any record of it. "dude, wheres my car?" so i call MRSA, they say it was supposed to be there as of friday. ok, so at this point it seems like the AAA guy is trying to **** with them to get more $$. tow + storage + tow again on monday = $$. so i call the different mazda dealerships in the area, as they say it might have been sent to one of those if it was closer. nope, no one has any record of my car. i still cant get a hold of AAA. they are supposed to call me back at 1:30p, but never do. ever. so finally around 5:30 the dealership calls and says the car is there now, and that it will be looked at tomorrow. ive got better things to do during my work day (like post on car forums) than figure out how mazda and AAA can't differentiate a their mouths from their ********. in any case, the dealerships were pretty responsive and informative but the process of getting my car there was terrible. im looking into a full size spare now which is my MO for my 4 wheeled vehicles.

MRSA = thumbs down for using AAA
AAA = definite thumbs down for having their heads up their asses

Sorry to hear about your flat and problems. I don't think you will find a place to put a full sized spare in the car, the toy spare takes up a good part of the trunk. When I got my flat, I ended up stopping just east of the Lawrence on ramp onto 237 (on 237). It was dark and it was very heavy traffic.

I called AAA (since I have it), they said it would be about an hour, it was 45 minutes. It would have been longer if I was in a safer location (according to the dispatcher). They brought a hook type truck, the guy looked at it and with my front and rear spoilers (from Mazda, not MazdaSpeed), said, basically no-way he could tow me. They got a flatbed (which I preferred anyway . I went with the car in the tow truck (to prevent what you had happen, which almost happened to me as well).

AAA policy is a 5 mile (I think) tow, and at that time of night (7:30PM when I called, now close to 9PM by the time they got the truck on the bed), nothing was open. First place the driver took me was a storage yard (which was closed, so he was going to dump my car on the street). I told him the first driver said to take it to their facility to patch it. If I wasn't with him, my car would have been put in a very unsecure location on Evelyn in Mountain View. Their facility was backed up, but because it was only a flat, they offered to fix it within 30 minutes and get me on my way. Cost me $20.
