Bay Area: Doc Wong's Driving Clinic -- Aug 5th

I'm planning on going to Doc Wong's driving clinic this Saturday morning. I've been twice before, and it's a blast to drive through the mountains with a bunch of other sports cars. The drive starts in Redwood City and journeys through the Santa Cruz mountains on some exciting (and most of the time, less traffic-y) roads. Both times I've been the only rotary there, and I'm hoping to increase that number this month :-) Best of all, it's free!

Here's a previous thread about it.

Check it out!

I hope to see some more rotaries there :-)

Here's a Google Maps link showing you the location of the meeting point. You can get directions from there.

A radio's not necessary, but I guess it could help. The group usually sticks together through the roads.

Buwisit went into one of the corners a little wide, got off the road, tried to countersteer it back, headed face first into the side of the mountain... the car jumped and rolled on its back...

he was fine, we spent about 2hours dealing with the popo's, the firedepartment, random onlookers(who were very nice to us), the tow truck, and this crazy old goon that lived right on that corner who kept bitching and bitching... even the popo's gave up on the old loon...

i have the video footage of it happening since i was behind him, and pictures of the car after it flipped... but I'll leave it up to Buwisit to ok this all b4 i post anything...

for those that are keeping count... it was a Ti Gray...

thanks for the update, that sucks big time, considering he just got the car. I don't think it was titanium grey, I think its that new galaxy grey.

I went on one of these runs last year. It was truely a blast. The pack moves at a pretty good clip. On that run a 959 backed into a tree after misjudging a corner. So a word to the wise. The regulars on these runs are better that average drivers with some very nice verhicles, some of which can out perform a stock 8. So know your vehicles limits before participating in this level of event. Doc stresses not to drive beyond your ability (or that of your car) and any of you that have made this run know what he's talking about. I feel for anyone that has an incident like this and thank God no one was hurt. Good luck getting it put back together. It's interesting that this is a 3rd 8 I've heard of landing on its top after misjudging a corner. The other two had DSC turned off or were base. Does anyone know if the 8 in this accident had DSC enabled?
