This is just a warning, from personal experience. GMR is officially a burn. Dont know if anyone knows, but last saturday(1-9-10), there was a pretty big bust, there was glendora PD posted at the bottom of front side AND at the end of 39.

They must have written atleast 2dozen tickets, and towed like 9 cars. NOT COOL, My 8 was one of them. Car spent 24hrs in the impound, and cost me $275 for the impound, and $87 for the police release. i also ended up with 3 tickets, No front plate, modified exhaust, 40 in a 25... so, just as a word of caution, from what i understand the people in the communities at the bottom of both frontside and 39 have been getting annoyed with us "spirited drivers" and have been notifying local PD. so, if you DO, go up, make sure you just cruise back down, according to my ticketing officer, they heard me for about 3 min before they saw my car come around the corner, said they thought i had crashed a couple times cause the "POP POP!" comin around some corners =P haha (thanks turbo xs)

Anyway, this spot is a burn now, its becoming more and more common that im seeing either rangers, or GPD hanging out in turnoffs or at the bottom of the hill... so, BE CAUREFUL

Wow I live on 39 and usually take a cruise up there. Looks like I'm going to watch out from now on. Mike, you better watch your *** to cuz I know youz likes to run gmr. I dont even know why they made that stupid community at the bottom of the mountain. All the rich yuppies bitching about car noise is pain stupid. **** tards!

one reason why i go alone, durring the day :D not at night like most toguers and another reason why i cruise the whole downhill part to glendora i only run the ridge and part of mountain road but start cooling off a bit before the 3 or 4 mile decent

you know, when you say "gmr's been a burn for years" it really means nothing, technically ALL canyon roads with people running on them are burns, and its not really a matter of IF you get stopped, but WHEN you get stopped.

Yeah, a couple friends of mine live in that community at the bottom of 39 and they have told me about their neighbors bitching about people driving.

Normally i will cruise the last 2 miles or so cause i'm always worried about it, but, while "cruising" down, there was a group of rsx's and 1 s2k that were trying to smash on it, so... the whole pride monster came out and said "**** them" so, started dippin through the corners around them, caught up to the s2k, and 2nd to last turn over took him, pulled out of the bottom corner shifted to 3rd threw out a massive pop and flammed, lit up the WHOLE dark corner in front of all the cops... pretty damn funny to be honest, i was wearing a smile while they were questioning me on it... haha

Yeah gmr is full of dumb asses that think they can drive. It sucks cuz they **** it up for the rest of us canyon cruisers. Ive been tearing up gmr since I was 16 so I know that place like the back of my hand.

yeah.. but even though some of these people are idiots, it still sucks though when people go off, about a week ago someone in a corolla went off, on the upper straightaway, i was on my way up when i saw a tow truck comin down with a big crunched up aluminum can on the flatbed :/

It really is a shame to see people running that dont have the experience, confidence, or knowledge of their car or the road go up there, it makes the place unsafe and takes the fun out of it. STUPID PEOPLE SHOULD STAY OFF THE MOUNTAIN. some ******* in an sw20 came flying around the lower S's on backside about a month ago double lane-ing it, BLACKED OUT... wtf, how stupid do you have to be, really, we missed eachother by about 12", and WHY someone wouldnt turn their lights back on when they see lights coming up the hill, i just dont know...

every time i go they are refixing a certain gaurdrail on the first half coming from mt baldy we once hiked down ther and found random piecess from a blue s2k :/
