Arizona RCCAZ Poker Run set for Sat., May 15th
Everyone,
Our 2nd Annual Valley Casino Poker Run is set for this Saturday, May 15th. For those of you who've never done a poker run, it's a fun way to get out and drive your vehicle. Basically there are five stops from where the event starts to where it ends. At each stop you receive a playing card, and the driver with the best poker hand will win a prize at the post-event lunch.
We'll plan on meeting on the North side of the Phoenix Zoo parking Lot (just North of McDowell on Galvin Parkway) around 9:30 a.m. and will start the event around 10:30 a.m. The event will wrap up around 1 p.m. with lunch and prizes at Fox Sports Grill near Frank Lloyd Wright and Scottsdale Road.
Pictures from last year's event can be viewed at RCCAZ.com by using the following link:

Let me know if you wanna GO!!!
NOTE: We need a headcount for the resturaunt, so if you haven't yet RSVP'd PLEASE do so ASAP. Looking foward to seeing everyone Saturday!!!

2004 Valley Casino Poker Run Wrap-up
Everyone,
Our second annual Valley Casino Poker Run last Saturday was a HUGE success. Thanks to everyone who made it out for the event. Sixteen cars and 21 participants braved the warm temps and freeway detours to travel the course that weaved it's way through Scottsdale's Casino Alley enroute to our final destination at Fox Sports Grill.
Congratulations to our lucky winner of the day (John Harvell) who had a winning hand of three of a kind. John won a VERY nice gift certificate to Vivid Racing. Thanks to Mike Huffman for making it out once again and bringing VividRacing's Project RX-8 for everyone to drool over.
Several other door prizes were given away and I think it's safe to say a good time was had by all!
Check out pics from the event in our RCCAZ Image Gallery http://www.rccaz.com/gallery/ and thanks to Matt Miller for assisting with pics. Also, thanks to Mike Rizzo, Mike Huffman, Jon Thomas, and Ryan Mechelke for helping give out playing cards at our Casino stops along the route.
Until next month, keep it on the asphalt!

I hope to join you guys for a ride sometime soon. I've been so busy that the weeks are all merging into one. Hopefully I'll get some freetime in July/August and can go for a ride somewhere.

Welcome RXAnna!
If you PM me your normal email address I can send you information about joining RCCAZ and add you to our club email roster for a trial period. What color did you purchase?? I just received my latest version of RXTuner magazine which features "Old School" rotaries. Anyway, they mention in the mag that for 2005 Mazda is planning to replace Lightning Yellow with Snowflake White Pearl. That should be an interesting color. The article went on to say that Yellow was not selling well, which actually suprised me.

Actually, I was really considering the yellow for a long time. That pearl color sounds sweet though. Oh well, I like my silver one quite nicely.
That's good to know that another lady is posting here, poolsidenaz! I wonder if that was you I saw about 2 weeks ago in Scottsdale...it was on a Friday afternoon, on Scottsdale Rd. I didn't see too many RX8s at all at first, but it seems like in the last month or so, I see them everywhere I go now.
Hopefully, I can make it to the next meet. :D
