Used a Borla XR-1 multi-core muffler and a Borla stainless steel U bend as the outlet. Needs to be cleaned up. Buts its very light (17lbs from the cat back), looks stock enough to not draw attention, and is not obnoxiously loud.

 

Pretty clean, has your shroud shown any burn marks?

what do u mean by the rear part cut out? i find titantium jic is all dual. there is not single.

 

I think I know what Chad meant. If you look closely at the exhaust, you'll notice the weld at the bends and the ring that's around the canister probably have custom hangers.

 

look up jic magic spartan 505 titanium and bring it to a reputable muffler guy.

Any reputable muffler shop could do that.

 

i went single, but it burnt ma back bumperr.

 

So everytime I see the JIC Magic pics I want to do that more and more, the only issue is I have been searching for mufflers for the past hour and a half or so and can't decide on one that I like more...here's the ones I have it narrowed down to, what do ya'll think?

With as hot as the rx gets. I'd overlook the Megan.

 

Just buy an HKS Hi-power and be done with it.

I've had zero issues with mine. no bumper burning, shrouds melting, or ash/exhaust stains on the bumper.


Or you could cheap out and get the Race Roots knock off that doesn't sound as good.

Visually I like how the JIC setup looks, I know that adding an exhaust isn't gonna mess with the performance of the 8 that much so I'm looking more at visual appeal. HKS sells the Hi-Power muffler itself as a universal and I don't see the sound being too different from what the cat back sounds like and I do like the sound of the HKS so I may go with that an get it welded on like the JIC setup.

 

Ive had the Hi power for like 3 years, its lightweight, easy to remove, and sounds like ***.

What more do you want?

Thanks for your opinion ill take everything into consideration. im getting new wheels and coilovers next spring the exhaust is not completely done yet so i guess angle needs fixing and wing came with the car when i bought it. i dont like taking it off because of those holes in the trunk. So until i find a trunk at a decent price im going to keep using it.
