I've had the car for 6 weeks, and the only RX-8 I've spotted since then was a blue, the driver of which refused to make eye contact while we sat perpendicular to each other at an intersection.

Then yesterday in the Sorrento Food Court I spotted a red and another black, and today on the way to work I pulled up to make a left turn and there was another black in the lane next to mine. We pulled down our windows and shouted "nice car" to each other. He didn't know about the forum, but I gave him directions ... let's see if he turns up.

 

I live in east county, and there are four of them I see occasionally. Silver, titanium (like mine except no spoiler), blue and black. I work in Mission Valley and in adjacent lots I can see a silver and a red. Plus someone who works down here has a yellow one I see all the time. Yet, while on a trip to LA recently, I didn't see another one the whole day!

 

I tend to spot at least three 8's daily in San Diego

 

When it rains it pours - I saw one near UTC yesterday!

I had mine in for an oil change last week, and had to use one of our other cars. I was on my way to pick mine up, after missing it all day. Driving home on Friars Road, and what pulls up behind me at the light but a red 8. And then, a bit later, coming the other direction is ANOTHER red 8! Needless to say, I sped home so I could pick my baby up. Have I mentioned lately how much I love my car? :D

Haven't been yet. For as much as I've frequented this site, I just managed to find my way to the regional forums recently. I would like to go sometime, even if I'm the only female there

 

On Monday I saw three: a blue in Poway, a red in Poway, a blue on the 5 South from La Jolla.

On Tuesday I saw a Titanium in Chula Vista.

i always seen a silver rx8 in the morning on my way to shcool, but she was an old women. and she drive like a grandma. and there was another black rx8 owner live around my house, I live in Rancho santa fe. i wish i can personally talk to those people.

my is black rx8 with ms front bumper only and with rotora big brake kit and enki rims. ANd i always charge with my 8.

By the way you can see my car in Solana Beach VONS supermarket, i works there, because i am junior in high school, and i am a bagger there I love the job lol.

 

i tried to join the rx8 club in san diego, i submit my club member thing, but i think i forget to reply it lol. so the letter is expired.

can someone give me that website again, and i think it would be better if i go to that club.

One of those days......this morning - on 163 South and exiting on Clairemont Mesa Blvd, and lo and behold, there's a titanium grey exiting right in front of me. We looked like twins. And leaving work in Mission Valley, headed for Hillcrest for dinner, there's a sunlight silver just two cars ahead of me on 8 West. I'm spotting more of our babies every day!

 

I live in La Mesa and work in Mission Valley....have yet to see another RX-8. If you ever see a Red one, appearance package with rotary accents, tinted windows, and Mazdaspeed applique on the B-pillars, that's me =)

there will be another 8 in SD soon. I am heading there in a few weeks. You folks know if there are any issues with bringing an out of state 8 with no Cali emmissions stuff on it into CA?

 

You don't happen to work by the Marriott across from the Hyundai building, do you? I see a red 8 over there all the time.

I haven't joined the local club either. I'll get around to it! Where did you get your windows tinted, and are you happy with the job they did? That's my next step!

 

If you move here, you'll have to have the smog inspection every other year as part of your registration process. Have it checked as soon as you get here and see if it passes. You might want to check out this thread:

Mine is off Camino Del Rio South, usually next to or behind the mortgage building that's next to the Denny's. And I got my windows done at Elite Image on El Cajon Blvd. The place is kinda sketchy appearance-wise, but dont let that put you off... they do a great job and are really nice. Did my whole car in an hour and a half, lifetime guarantee from the usual bubbling, tearing, etc. and if you get a ticket, they'll remove it for free so you can get out of the ticket, then if you go back they'll put it back on for only $20. I've only had the tint for a week and a half now, but so far it's great. I'd recommend them.

you can see my black rx8 most time after 3:00 clock because i got off school and working at the VONS market at Solana beach, off lomas santa fe, high way 5 . you should see my car there in the front parking lot, people checking it out every day

 

You can add one more RX8 to your San Diego list. Got a very nice deal on a brand new '04 last weekend. You may see a red touring RX8 with appearance package between Carmel Valley and downtown.
