Two-hour chase ends peacefully
07:14 AM Mountain Standard Time on Friday, January 21, 2005
PHOENIX -- A Valley man is in custody after leading police on a two-hour chase through Phoenix Thursday night.
The chase began at 5 p.m., after Christopher Mendoza showed up at the Capitol Police Department, where his wife works, and was apparently escorted off the grounds.
A short time later, Mendoza apparently called his wife and allegedly threatened her.
Mendoza’s wife called police and a short time later, patrol cars caught up with his vehicle near Interstate 17.
While driving his truck, with his three children inside, Mendoza apparently called his wife through Phoenix as he waved a gun from his window.
Mendoza gave chase, and with his three children still in the vehicle, he periodically waved a gun out his truck’s window.
Two hours into the chase, Mendoza surrendered to more than a dozen police officers near 15th Avenue and Van Buren Street.
The kids, ages 2, 4 and 6 were not injured during the incident and were handed over to their mother at the scene.
Mendoza apparently told police he was having marital problems.
Mendoza will be charged with domestic violence threats and endangerment.

funny
the funny thing is...all that stuff would only be misdemeanors...until he was waving the gun outside his truck. now each charge can be felonies
one day, i was in the garage getting ready to wash the 8, i dropped some tools on the concrete floor. the next thing i know, police are in front of my house. this retard calls the police and reports that I had a firearm. meanwhile, he's in the street with his firearm. and the police did not impound it! (he was the only one in the area with a firearm). see, if they did their jobs correctly, he wouldn't of had that gun!
and with the three children, yes he's a retard! (you should hear some of the stories he tells why he got fired from each job he's had --- he calims its not his fault, but when you listen to the stories, it is his fault!)
the best line is: "Mendoza apparently told police he was having marital problems". well, he's got problems now!
it's for the best, he's always beating on his wife. one day he was outside and almost ran her over with his truck.

ok, i should have entitiled this thread, "how to permanently mess up ur life". last night, after the firetruck, i was talking to the wife. she was explaining how "that boy is now f#%*ed" and all the charges.
- charges listed in the paper : threat, endangerment, domestic violence, all with the gun - phoenix police
- additional charges by capitol police
- put gun to child's head during the 2 hour chase through phoenix
- additional threats on voicemail
- she informed the police that he is a gang member
- she additionally informed the police about family members
- she additinally informed the police about money and drugs passing through this guys mother's house
she took away this guys car (in her name), re-titled her car (both names), re-financed the house, cancelled his cel, cancelled his credit cards. apparently everything was in her name. about 1/2 hour after she re-titled her car, his family members attempted to use her car to post his 9K bond.
and this guy is about 26-27.
