Also, subtly alternating background shading light/dark every few rows really helps readability.

I like that it seems to have an auto save feature now in the quick reply box but its not fun to look at.

 

The dark theme is the way to go. They eliminated the dark theme on rx7club as well. I'm a super mod there and we have been discussing several board layout changes and other multiple mods have requested that the dark theme be returned. The IB states that there is much internal debate about returning it. I haven't received a clear answer as to why its such a big deal to allow the dark theme to be returned. I agree that this current white theme is hard on the eyes.

I do however like the auto save feature in the text box. This has come in handy a couple times.

 

Why did the themes change in the first place? Change for the sake of change is stupid. There was nothing wrong (mostly) with the old theme.

The forum software also has the ability to allow the products (us) to choose a theme, but there is only one theme choice. Why not give us a choice?

 

On rx7club, it was the IB's choice to simplify the themes, thinking it would standardize the board and make it easier to use. All its done over there is cause issues. There are still a lot of people that do not like the new theme. We are working on a board layout change to condense the board and there are even mixed emotions about that. I don't mind simplifying the board a little but doing away with the dark theme all together bothered me a little.
