Just ordered mine, but I had a question. If I decide to put on the race pipe, will my CEL come on? If so, when I replace the stock cat would the light go off or stay on? I'm asking because I need to be able to pass emissions, and if the CEL comes on and stays on after replacing the stock cat I would fail.


Edit: Do I need new exhaust hangers for the install or will the stock ones be fine?

Hey,

if you do put the RP it will throw a CEL. When you replace it with the stock one, the CEL should turn off. If it doesnt, you can always clear it using a OBD2.

And if you have a 2011 RX8 you will need longer Exhaust Hangers. Mazda changed up the design a little bit that year.

 

i have exhaust hangers in the FS section if anyone needs some to pair this exhaust with their 09-11 rx8

Ok thanks, mine is 2004, as for all of the installation hardware, is everything included or do I have to get something else in order to complete the installation?

 

All the hardware comes with the CBE so you can directly bolt it up

Got my exhaust today, looked it over and its spotless, amazing build quality. I didn't have time to start installing it til later in the evening, and I managed to get all of the hangers off, and every single bolt, except for one... It got completely stripped, I was gonna cut it off, but I looked at the clock and it was after midnight, so I'll have to wait til tomorrow morning because I don't wanna wake everyone up. LOL!

I'm so excited, I can't wait to get it installed!!

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know I got it installed and it sounds amazing. It is quite loud, but only in the really low RPM range and when you get on it. You can cruise in 6th on the highway with minimal noise at around 60mph, doesn't get really loud til you start getting closer to 70-75. Even though it was like 28 degrees here I put my windows down and did a nice pull from 1st to 3rd and it sounded amazing. There is no drone at all, and I think its suitable for daily driven cars. Overall I think this exhaust is amazing, and when it comes time for inspection I might just get the cat pipe from turboxs instead of putting my crappy old one on.

hey guess,
i installed mine last week i also put in the garage line headers from trx.
it gained a lot of power and its loud as f.... :D

the cops allready dont like me

but if u look for more power u have to buy it
also if u want to pass emission just use 1 02sensor fault drill it out and light will stay off

worked since 10 days now
