So on 1/11, they reported that the cutting process was about to begin. Now, almost a month later they just reported getting some materials and are about to begin manufacturing. Basically, there was no progress for a month.
The ETA's that I was given are simply ETA's...I know GiroDisc are doing their best but yeah the ETA's I admit are not the best. Definitely taking longer than otherwise stated.

I misunderstood what they meant by cutting. Those were the models. Testers. They tested for clearances with plastic cut models.

Also they are perfectionists there...and this is why its taking longer. This is indeed good and bad...

Sorry but presently some doubt is raising...

Bye
Support and replacement parts will be available when needed without issues. Pretty much all the applications that already exists have the replacement parts ready to go. Its just the applications that are not yet ready like this that take some time unfortunately.

I know everyone is waiting and its tough...I will be asking to see if they can do anything for us to speed things up.

(11:21:47 AM) girodisc martin: this is showing us inspect the hat for runout
(11:21:49 AM) Adam K: that is awesome
(11:22:09 AM) girodisc martin: the needle is measuring tenths as in .0001"
(11:22:33 AM) girodisc martin: it measures about .00015" runout
(11:22:37 AM) girodisc martin: that's f'ing flat
(11:22:49 AM) Adam K: that is precision
(11:23:22 AM) girodisc martin: it's amazing, we used to actually grind the front hats on the evo x because the machine shop we used just couldn't get them flat
(11:23:54 AM) girodisc martin: now, because we actually took the time to figure out how to do it right, they are all this flat
(11:24:14 AM) girodisc martin: bringing the equipment in house was the best thing we ever did
(11:25:20 AM) girodisc martin: for ref
(11:25:31 AM) girodisc martin: .002" is max allowable runout of a rotor
(11:26:03 AM) Adam K: I like it a lot
(11:26:20 AM) girodisc martin: we'll have the front proto a little later in the day
(11:26:34 AM) girodisc martin: rotor rings arrived yesterday so we can cut them in the coming days
(11:27:35 AM) Adam K: yesss!!!
(11:27:43 AM) Adam K: as soon as humanly possible
(11:28:10 AM) Adam K: so are these the most perfect hats you ever made?
(11:28:35 AM) girodisc martin: well
(11:28:55 AM) girodisc martin: we had one hat that the needle didn't move :-)
(11:29:04 AM) girodisc martin: but these are damn good
(11:29:22 AM) girodisc martin: they are small in diameter, and have some section to them, so that helps
(11:30:13 AM) girodisc martin: the big hats for 15 and 16" rotors are harder for sure
(11:30:25 AM) girodisc martin: we are happy to see .0005-.0007" with those
(11:33:13 AM) Adam K: I love the precision and craftsmanship sir!
(11:33:17 AM) Adam K: keep up the good work!
(11:33:33 AM) girodisc martin: we try :-D

Hi Adam, if you can pass this post along to Girodisc to make sure that they don't make the same mistake, it would be great. https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...8&postcount=80 Thanks.

Indeed...I will pass this along just as a precaution. However this is why girodisc is testing and made mock models based on the actual Front and Rear RX8 brake assembly. We are talking about the entire spindle, hub, caliper, caliper cage, etc...

but I will pass it along.

Straight from Girodisc:

Adam,

Martin took a look at those, he said those rotors were actually made in Taiwan. He said he’s aware of that issue and that our rotors will have no issues clearing the calipers.

Thanks for the heads up though, it is much appreciated!

nope, +6C and all the snow is gone since 1,5 week. spring is comming up! =)

and my rex needs new brake disc's, my stock disc's is totally worn out and even have some small cracks... they have lived since 2004 and 3 seasons with track duty.

I give the stock brakes A+ on the RX-8.

But these girodisc looks soo nice and light weight!

Email me and I will double check. adamk@thmotorsports.com

Your pads are already at GiroDisc waiting the completion so they can be put in the box with the rotors once shipped.

Hey guys I am back. I will shoot over an inquery to see if we can get a possible ship date.
