colors are completely customizable...there is a cost though.

The first few pics show the normal color.

Yes I can have that happen instead of having them being slotted. But there is no cost difference I'm afraid.

Pretty with a legit drop in unsprung mass. Were I not so poor... Dunno why more aren't interested.

FYI, only series I base autos have the smaller front rotors. All manuals and any auto with sport trim or higher have 12.7" front rotors. I think all S2s have them.

best would be the GiroDisc...since its an actual floating rotor.

Next best thing would be the DBA 5000 series.

I can do $675 for the front pair for ya!!!

LMK

MarkLinRacing 06-22-2011 06:57 AM

How do these compare with the DBA5000 rotors?

Looks like these GiroDisk rotors are straight vane?

Also, how much are the replacement rotors?

ShellDude 06-22-2011 10:41 AM

I wish this was around 3 years ago.

GiroDisc are more motorsports oriented, and are a true floating design....they have room to contract and expand without putting stress on the hat or rotor.

DBA have kangaroo paw inside...

pic explains

http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...74jd9ikXWihFRA

I found that the girodisc are much tougher and replacement parts are much easier to attain...

~ 300-350 per axle for replacement rings with all hardware for girodisc.

yup...

MarkLinRacing 06-22-2011 08:13 PM

After doing some quick research, I think I'm pretty set on these rotors...
They do look like true 2pc floating rotors (looked into DBA5000 only to find they were not which was surprising to me). Also, looks like GiroDisk has curved vanes. :icon_tup:

But first! I would need an RX8. :p:

How much would the the shipping be to Canada?

120 series or 121 series centrics? there is a big difference.

These would only be available if we can get 5+ people.

These are intended for the GT trim RX8's. And I might be wrong but in JAP and EUR it should be a Type S??

Eudm markets have even different trim names. Type S doesn't really apply.
To make everything clear you could state that it will fit any rx8 that was originally sold without the possibility to install 16" wheels :)

Many many low and high power engine cars (auto\5sp manual and 6sp) share the "GT" trim of our american counterparts... making everything hard to identify at times!

However i'm the other guy interested with vcoil's purchase. F\R set.

Cheers!

Gotcha...well here in the US the GT versions also get the bigger front brakes...as far as the rest of the trim I am not sure...I can get you the USDM GT OE rotor dimensions...LMK

bse50 08-22-2011 06:51 PM

Gt oe dimensions are perfect, 12.something inches right?

Here are both the GT and non GT front rotors...OE sizes. The Girodisc will be the same as the GT OE size.

I currently have a Racing Brake BBK up front. Any idea how these compare?

What are you looking to compare? Braking power will still be determined by the pad you are using...rotational mass/weight will be saved with the girodisc for sure.. and they are intended to be very tough.

But these are OEM size so no BBK style big rotors. LMK if you had more specific questions.

Just a question raised from a French guy:
what happens if I need spear parts? (rotors, hardware, rotor hat, etc.).

They'll be available or need to be ordered with a new GB because of quantity?

Thanking you in advance

I will take care of my customers at cost when the time comes. It will depend on what is needed...but buying new rings will be less than buying a new kit.

vcoil 09-01-2011 06:07 AM

Any Girodisc's advice from Girodisc about pads for street, ligth track days, and race use?

Thanking you in advance

Regards

P.S. In fact people who evaluate the buy also think to a complete kit swap and ask questions about the ability of the oem front calipers to develop all the power from this rotors.

We have been very successful with running Carbotech race pads with these. Very good combination as far as longevity and performance.

I think the OEM calipers are very good...the whole hydraulic system in the RX8 is much better than most other cars in the market...including the STi, which we road race. Its very well balanced, and with the proper pads, fluid and rotor for your situation, you should have zero worries about your brakes. Unlike the Subarus and 350Z's....not sure on evos.

bse50 09-07-2011 07:09 AM

Bump Adam..
Price shipped to sweden? we have another potential customer... or 2 there :)
