Buy a boat if you have to sail...
Unplug the ESPS and try cranking the engine without spark plugs. Leave it to dry for a couple of hours, plug everything back and try to start it.
It should start at that point, if it's still leaking oil your dumbness just costed you a new engine.

Chances are you did that same thing as this guy: (https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-parts-sale-wanted-44/hydro-locked-engine-need-new-engine-asap-196770/) Ignore all the discussion of trying to get it covered by Mazda. Took a while for people to start thinking about it correctly.

Ingested the water and the pressure of not being able to compress water cracked the block.

If it was simple water ingestion without internal damage, then getting it dried out should mean you can fire it right up. Don't just let it sit, because you don't want it turning to rust in there.

ESPS is the Eccentric Shaft Position Sensor. It's near the bottom of the rotary keg.
It's the rotary equivalent of the Crankshaft Position Sensor.

remove all 4 sparkplugs and then crank the engine? could i spray like starter fluid inside just to clean it up a little? you know where i can find pics of the esps and where it's located at.

Click on the "Engine Lack of Power" link. It's a PDF file.

If it's a crack then it's rebuild time.

If you are leaking oil out of the engine block while the engine is running, THE ENGINE BLOCK IS CRACKED.

There is no "repair" other than rebuilding the engine or getting a new engine.

Exact same thing as in the other thread.

If you have car insurance against weather/other types of damage, this is USUALLY something that could be covered as "flood damage", since water ingestion caused it. It may or may not be covered, you may or may not have the coverage, and it will probably take some discussion with your insurance company to get them to understand it.

Does this look / sound familiar? From the thread I linked:

Some of the rx7s had this issue for another reason, but this shows what I am talking about.

Next time. Put it in reverse and go REALLY fast...... Don't do that. I'm kidding. Sounds like you're out the cost of a new engine. Luckily they come up in the fs sale threads pretty often

Only if he doesn't have a level of insurance coverage that would pick up the tab. Comprehensive from a standard US insurance company should. He is in Guam, which is a US territory, so there is a decent chance he might have a US insurance company.

Non-US companies may have coverage for it too, I just have absolutely NO knowledge of them and how they work. I expect there are wide differences, since so much of how the US companies function is based on US law.

Depends.

If there is still actively water in the engine, it may not fire due to an insufficient air/fuel ratio.

If there used to be water, but is no longer, then there shouldn't be a problem.

If you cracked your block due to water ingestion, you should be able to get it to fire, but it will be spewing critical fluids, start losing lubrication, overheating, etc... until it finally burns itself out.

If the water had some level of contaminate, like silt, debris, gravel, if that got in your engine it's possible for the rotors to be 'locked' into position, the same way a door stop prevents a door from opening or closing.

If the engine has been sitting with some level of water/moisture in it, it may have rusted internally, and either rusted the seals to the housing and/or the surface is no longer smooth and the rust is hanging it up.

well when i flooded my car i was able to start jump start it and after that i was able to start it normal with the key.

then i would start it every other day for about 5mins dropped it to the dealer for about 3weeks got it back cleaned the spark plugs drained out

the oil every drop possible then added 2 bottle of oil just so hopefully nothing would rust inside. the other day i jump started it and i can start it

normaly with out any problems just leaking oil same place as in the pic above.

just wanted to know if it would still have started if there was water in the engine the dealer i guess couldnt get it started so i guess just went by

what i told them had happend and diagnosed that there was water in the engine

because i can still start it up and drive it only problem is the oil leak as for compression i would say theres a very small compression leak.

im thinking that it's just the seals thats shot because it starts up normal .
