It's the last time I'm going to say this, because I'm not sure why you aren't understanding this part.

If you are going to buy a new engine anyways, just jb weld the crack and keep running it until it explodes

.......What exactly made you think you could drive through door-high water with an rx8, and successfully come out of it with no issues? :/

They are still one of your best options. I sent Paul an email to bring your inquiry to his attention. He had made several comments about having non-stop calls / emails 16+ hours a day, so your single question may have gotten lost.

If poster is really in Guam, this could cause that cost to skyrocket........I would think. Unless he's got access to MAC.

Yes from Guam but I'm pretty sure shipping will be around 600-900 hopefully the engine will be around 3000 I may be able to afford I really want to get it running hate driving up an seeing it just sitting thanks for sending him an message tryin to be patient don't wanna keep sending emails and blowing up there inbox i know they get a lot of that and from others and just makes it hard on them having to screen the same messages. Yah I've been doing my homework and reading posts and feel safer if I were to get it from mazmart last resort would be eBay but not gonna rush an get it from there rather get from mazmart hope in my budget range though thanks again.

I'm surprised folks are assuming the crack came from expansion with H2O inside the housing. Seems to me with water up to the door line that the motor would've been partially submerged...

The combination of high heat block + luke warm water in and of itself is some effed up shiat.

I think about my bottom mount turbo being exposed to something like that and, um.... shutter.

Agreed, that is possible as well, though not as likely. Check out the thread I linked in post 3. RotaryResurrection chimed in on his knowledge of such failures.

Will do... may have read it already... this topic seems to "bubble" up once or twice a year.

Finally got me a rebuilt engine from Mazmart and put it in but having a hard time starting up is that normal? I'm also getting new plugs today I'm sure after being in the other engine when sucked in water it should be no good. Any suggestions?
