hydro locked engine/ need new engine asap
I'm betting that the Cold water immediately hitting your Really hot Engine block probably cracked it
hence, why you are leaking oil. That's my logical guess anyways.
I've seen it happen before hot blocks crack very easily when they cool down fast.

The engine no doubt cracked from hydraulic lock generating lots of pressure and twisting the block, cracking the front iron's dowel casting. He says he has oil coming out and the dowels are actually pressurized oil passages, so that is why I say that. IF it were a random crack from temperature expansion/contraction, it would not be cracked in such a specific area. That particular area is known to crack due to twisting force.
Some of the rx7s had this issue for another reason, but this shows what I am talking about.

i found the exact location of oil leak, ...OK il try and explain where. on the driver side of the engine where 13b is stamped along with Mazda, directly forward is a hairline crack from front to back on the plate forward of 13b
The devil made me do it

Since nobody felt inclined to search for you I might as well pimp a local selling an engine.

I hear(see) you RR. I kinda feel the same way with people continuing to offer him engines for sale, or advice in trying to get the dealer to cover it, which it is a flood loss on any car insurance policy I know of, and probably doesn't even fall under collision, but comprehensive, and shouldn't even raise insurance rates.
Not sure how USAA will handle it for him, they usually pay the shop directly, but in this case it is probably going to have to be a dealer, and hopefully a new engine (rather than reman) will be possible, but no idea there. They might total it out due to the cost of the engine replacement and that water was clearly up in the engine bay, but again, it could be worse.
I could only see a faint chance of them denying coverage, but from my experience of USAA, I seriously doubt they would deny it.

IF the dealership/mazda is replacing your core under their warranty, then they likely will not. IF your insurance is paying for a replacement, then technically it is just like you are paying cash out of your own pocket for a new engine, but you still own the old one, so I would not let them keep it unless your insurance co. says otherwise.
Since I also have USAA, I can comment on this
USAA "buys" the damaged parts/car from you on insurance claims. The only way he will be able to sell his core is if dealer and USAA both deny coverage.
I can't see the dealer accepting coverage with even a hint of what happened, so the question will be up to USAA, but it sure looks like it would be covered under flood damage. I just requested my full contract since it disappeared off of the website, should have it back on there within a few hours, and I can quote the points in the contract that qualify for this.

However they are just as likely to abandon it at the dealership as they are to pay to ship it or have it recovered by someone. Mazda isn't going to "buy" the damaged engine from the insurance. So in order to get it moved, the insurance would have to find a buyer willing to pick it up, or they'd have to pay to transport it some place and then try to sell it. It's not the same as the insurance company possessing a wrecked car that they've paid a claim out on...in that case they send it to auction and/or ultimately a salvage yard that buys it from the insurance company for a significant amount of money. In this case most salvage yards arent going to bid on/buy a known defective engine, especially if it winds up being just the block.
Its not the same as a mazda exchange of a warrantied/defective engine where they automatically keep the core and send it back to mazda for teardown and possible rebuild. Mazda is not going to be directly involved in this case (assuming they deny warranty coverage, which I am sure they will). So the only question will be "will the private insurance company lay claim to a known defective engine" and the answer is likely "no" since it's value is going to be so low (scrap) to them that it will likely not be worth them trying to ship or sell.

IF it were me, when the dealership is done with the engine swap, I would ask them if I can take "my engine" with me, and if the insurance company doesn't object, then assume it is yours to do with as you wish.
Ive known of similar situations where the engine was abandoned at the dealership, and they've then sold it or used it for their own purposes after waiting a few weeks to see if anyone (owner or insurance) claimed it. I even bought a couple of cores about 2 years ago from dealerships, that arose from situations like this.

B: Collision means the impact with an object and includes the upset of a vehicle. Loss caused by the following is covered under Comprehensive Coverage and is not considered collision: fire;missiles or falling objects; hail, water, or flood; malicious mischief or vandalism; theft or larceny; riot or civil commotion; explosion or earthquake; contact with bird or animal; windstorm; or breakage of window glass.
C: Loss means direct and accidental damage to the operational safety, function, or appearance of your covered auto, including it's equipment.

- road damage to tires."
No reason they shouldn't cover it.
yea the usaa appraiser that has spoken to me said "im fine with u keeping the engine but u will have to ask the dealer it is up to them" then the Mazda dealer said "i dont see a problem with it unless the insurance says otherwise" so im guessing i will just have to make it clear to the techs to place the engine in my trunk after removing it ( i have all my carpet and stereo equipment out of if, im paranoid somebody will take it while at the dealer or something lol )....but we will see soon
the appraiser seems to be hinting that it will be covered since he was telling me stories of prior coverages that are just like my situation. i guess he just need to make a appearance at the dealer to make it official............and i just want to say again how much usaa is undoubtedly the most reliable insurance co i have ever had, or just a good company all together. i dont know if you guys saw my car before when it was gray and black but i hit a deer and it was the smoothest transaction i have ever had. never had 1 penny out of pocket besides my deductible. this time they towed to my house for free, dealer for free and got me in a rental the same day everything happened. i used to pay double every month with geico and they are a pain in the *** with everything. i had a moving truck back into me at my old apt and broke out my back glass and they made me pay for my rental and tow because they car was "drivable"

Most low-price insurance companies have terrible claim service, trying to keep as many claims down as possible, or simply no resources to process it. USAA isn't like that at all.
When I had heavy winds rip a bunch of roof shingles off, an appraiser was out the next day and I had the $1,700 deposit in my checking account an hour after he finished measuring. All glass claims are free, no deductible. For $10 a year added to your policy, you have essentially permanent AAA service, only not restricted to AAA locations, and farther towing radius. Every year they take a portion of their profits for the year and distribute it back to members, each member getting money based on how much in services they use or pay for. Usually $150-$300 for me, though I once had a $700+ 7-9 years ago. (Just some examples)
Can't beat them.
