so far all ive done is get the motor and fluids replaced. next week im gettin new tires, tranny fluid, and diff fluid.

first gotta get the car back to the dealer to get the bugs worked out with the motor.

tbk 03-03-2010 02:05 PM

tranny and diff fluid out of the way
up next is a coolant flush, then fix my bashed fender :tear:
then see if i can order some wheels before the state meet and not have to wait 7 months for them to be shipped.

9krpmrx8 03-03-2010 02:43 PM

I'm gonna be doing my tranny fluid Saturday and Corn is putting a system in Jeremy's R3 if you wanna swing by.

renesisjim 03-03-2010 05:00 PM

Well my hope of a tune was shattered today. I thought I was going to have to replace my throwout bearing but when we got in there, it was a warped flywheel that caused the problem. That's what I get for letting someone other than Carlos work on it. I don't think he even checked it. It definitely needed to be rebuilt. So the people at spec have given me a great deal on a stage 3 clutch with lightweight aluminum pressure plate and a flywheel. This drivetrain stuff is driving me nuts.

seatownracer 03-03-2010 07:52 PM

So are you still thinking about doing sways? ^^

renesisjim 03-04-2010 04:07 PM

Unfortunately no. I'll have to wait, having to buy the clutch kit and flywheel finished my spending. Since I'm still gettingnew tires

shinka~mami 03-05-2010 12:05 PM

okay sooooo, i wanna get the mazdaspeed springs and struts but cant pay the $700 labor that dealership wants to charge.....anyone in SA crew interested in having install gathering at my house? 2 car garage that is completely free of clutter....i have a huge grill and will provide bbq and chillarious commentary and company (cuz i dont know crap about putting struts/springs in lol and will be no help under the engine there) but will rent whatever is needed... plus i have tons of parking room since the lot beside me is still unbuilt on, and my neighbors are all pretty decent and wont be an issue :) anyone else have installs they would wanna do? there is no curfew lol, everyone can stay as late as they need to finish all installs on thier 8's... lemme know if there is interest on this, cuz i cant order the parts till i know someone can install them lol. spouses/kids/significant others welcome of course!!!

Ouch! lol

On a separate note, AT's get screwed in the Trans fluid department. Freggin almost 10 quarts of fluid required! Cost $100 to do it yourself! At least the diff was cheaper (did RP in mine).

Lord ET 03-07-2010 10:00 AM

tinted sidemarkers...check. Next up, caliper touchup and mazdaspeed decals

WTBRotary! 03-07-2010 07:00 PM

Ordered the fluids a few days back :)

renesisjim 03-10-2010 09:27 PM

I got my BHR ignition in today and got it installed w/ new plugs. The new flywheel and stage 3 spec also arrived. Just waiting patiently to order a Mazmart water pump.

Spoolin8 03-10-2010 11:20 PM

New engine, coils, fuel injectors, motor mounts, new set of 255 Falkens on the rear, Stoptech brakes all around, and re-installing my RB dual res midpipe.
