Thumbs down on the new layout!

Sorry to whomever picked it, but this new layout is awful! I hope its only temporary. I love this site, but this layout has got to go. Colors are too dark, and its too futuristic looking...very hard to read.

Hey Boost...

I'm sorry for complaining...you're right, I should have done some searching before shooting my mouth off. I guess I'm one of those guys that just doesn't like change

I do appreciate the ability to select the skin we want. Thanks!

No problem man ... I'll be making some new logo's for the new layouts tonight. I would now but I can't upload from work.

Try the Light New layout, that's what I'm using. The Dark is a shock at first, but grows on you with time. Kinda like the colors at rx7club.com grow on you.

Ahhh, that wasn't there when I first arrived this morning. Cool. I've set mine back to Old School for now, but I'll probably try New Light later today. That Dark is way too gloomy and hard to read for my eyes.

the new 'dark' layout is fine with me. But can you adjust the text font in this layout? the texts are too small to be easily read....

just that one change would make worlds of difference :D

oh and put a custom RX8Forum logo on top already!

I like the light new, but the font is too light - very difficult to read. Can you change the font color to black (looks grey)? That may help.

I actually like the signature file right justified. Also like the layout.

Thanks for the breath of fresh air!

It's cool. The font needs to be bigger and darker. Put the sigs on the left. I like the fact that we have options on how it looks. Can we get more skins??

Too dark for me - moving to Old School. Tried Light but prefer the colours and shapes of Old.

Reverse type is hard to read and from a design perspective is anathema.

The problem I have with the new layouts is the acres of space they waste. Lots of space between posts in a thread for example. Makes for a lot more scrolling. I'm trying to get used to the New Light style but I may end up going back to the Old School theme. It's not pretty but it's a lot easier to use.

I'm back to old school too.. I think the site is faster for me, plus the dark new was too heard to read.. Also the contrast when switching to other sites I'm on when multitasking was killing my eyes.. :D

After a couple days of experimenting and getting used to it, I've decided on Light new. Old school was getting pretty dated, but I liked it. I went with Dark New for the first few days and liked it pretty well too. The main reason I initially switched to Light New was that it wasn't as noticable at work. I'd hate for someone to think I could spend my time a little more productivly. I got used to it and now I like it the best.

I too like the right justify on the sigs, though I've never taken the time to put one on for myself.

I only signed up on this forum so I could switch back to Old School.

If I hadn't been following the RX-8 discussions, and known this is a good site, I would not have wasted my time trying to get past the new skin.

It's heinous. Well, it's pretty like the night sky, but freakin' annoying to try to read. Light's no better. Old school may be dated but it's highly effective from a user perspective.

Less is definitely more. This site's good enough to stand on it's own without an x-box, gimmick-y, glow.
