One thing I would like to see is no thread crapping in for sale threads.

Are there any rules about impersonating a mod?

thread crapping should be allowed within reason.

if the seller is misleading, or leaving out important info, we should be able to bring up details to inform the uninformed. For example, if I said I was selling $500 ebay rims and said they work perfectly, while someone noticed the rims are too small for the brake system on the RX-8 for all but the base level automatics ... that should be mentioned or someone will likely get something they cannot use.

Otherwise, the best solution for thread crapping is to ban replies and let sales go on via PM. This would of course increase the chances of scammers getting away with stealing from us.

I agree that is acceptable and I don't even consider that thread crapping.

When someone says the price is too high or they can get the item on eBay for less it can be very agrevating to the seller. It states it in the for-sale rules that it is not acceptable and for good reason. It sometimes causes a lash-out from a seller, things get heated and the person that thread crapped wasn't even intending on buying the product being offered.

If a person wants to let the seller know the price may be a bit high, they can, courteously through a PM. Other than that there should be consequences for doing it.

That and high prices tend to self-correct.

Everyone low-*****.
OP expresses indignation.
OP lowers price.

How would you impersonate a mod? The board is setup so you can't use the Moderator title under your name and the names of Moderators are in bold type. The names of SuperModerators and Administrators are in bold & red type.

I understand that but a person could pretend they were a mod in a private message to some unsuspecting character.

I don't have to pretend because I am an Adminstrator... just not on this forum.
