Problems with identity changes

Looks like there are some people having issues with their login not being right... and they're appearing as someone else.

I haven't experienced it myself.

Do a search for posts by Lucozade if you want to see some complaints about the issue.

Edit: Look here: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...threadid=14217

Something to do with new users signing up????

...Also, Torpedo appears to be a new user as this was his first post. Instead of asking for my login/pass it just posted as Torpedo. I logged out and it said, "all cookies have been cleared".

Happened to me too. It was a bit schizophrenic. I wanted to post a reply to a thread and it turns out I was already logged in as the last guy who posted. I deleted my post. I closed explorer, opened up the forum and I was still logged in as someone else. I rebooted and was myself again.

Not good. Some real mischief could be done.

You get the feeling that the mods haven't noticed this thread? As I say, some real mischief could be done posting under someone else's username. Makes me nervous.

Here you go. I (username: Hayseed) just opened the browser to the RX-8 forum and it seems I'm already logged in as someone named Marcus Desaul.

I will logout.

hi there, i'm logged in as a new user as well! this isn't my account! just wanted to let you guys know about it!

by teh way, this is the second time that something this bizarre has happened to me! this afternoon, i was logged int as someone else! even the forum layout changed all of a sudden from dark blue to white! i quickly closed IE, deleted cookies/histories and it was OK again!

Happened to me too. All I did was logout and log back in as my normal username and all was right with the world again.

When someone becomes a member (eg: Burke just became one), my session automaticaly switches to their name. I notice before I post - so I logoff and login as me. It's happened about 15 times over a two week period.

Yup. Here I am posting for the first time. Except that I'm not HooKook and I've actually been posting since September.

IMHO this is a pretty serious security issue and nothing has been done about it at least since this thread was started, which was about six weeks ago. Hello.
