Our search function SUCKS

Whats up with the search function?
I searched for springs, and the first page is full of random *** threads with springs in one page, and the springs thread doesn't show up?????

Anyone else having this problem?

Try searching for the word in the title only...

Use the advanced search or use Google (site:rx8club.com intitle:springs).

yea we have to search titles. or else if it is a widely discussed subject, all the threads from today show up because that word was used at some point. lol

the search function does suck.

searching on commonly-discussed subjects sucks, even if you do a title-only search.

That's cuz they were commonly discussed and probably just have nothing in them but 'Search!'
So the search itself doesn't suck...just the content.

Did try using title, it still sucks, advanced helps a BIT, but still not good.

Yes. It completely collapsed.

I've had "advanced" searches - with my user name and "threads started by" checked and the actual title of the thread cut-n-pasted right out of the browser - come back with no results.

short word searches are the worst, pathetic even

you have to have your username exactly as it appears, caps and all or you'll get this:

What exactly is the point of throwing out 3 or few letter words? It is so frustrating, because it seems like everytime I search I am searching for an acronym or a short word. I did a search for HID fog today... nothing. searched again for HID foglight and get a bunch of foglight hits, but since it ignored HID, nothing of value to me. Sorry, just had to vent.
