moderators deleting messages?

I just posted a simple little thread in the media news section with Mazda sales in May, complete with a link to the official press release on the mazda site and now it's gone...

this is just bizarre to me since the mazda sales is indeed media news, such that the mazda site itself posts it, and these kind of threads have appeared almost every month as it is

why on earth would something like that get deleted?

I mean geez, I can understand moderating a board for outrageous posts, but this seems like just censorship for no obvious reason.

Again, it's an official Mazdausa.com site press release!

Moreover, this information is actually valuable to people -- someone interested in purchasing the car would do well to understand sales patterns to then be able to establish negotiating position.

The first rule of rx8club is never mention the crossfire. Any mention of it will get you an immediate ban.

Even if you do not mention the crossfire, you may be banned for looking like you were going to be posting about it in a future post.

I'm just mystified. Zoom44 just replied to an email and said he didn't delete it, but I guess there are a number of moderators.

This message though was not in any way opinionated: just actual sales figures.

So basically it was
1) link and summary of official Mazda USA press release
2) a thread type that has been appearing almost every month in the section
3) relevant info for Rx-8 owners and those interested in purchasing

What the heck?

It is possible that you linked to a page that might have had a crossfire related article or photo. Or even to a site that links to another site that also links to crossfire related material.

Regardless of the reason, if indeed you have done something that requires a post removal, what you are doing now is not going to end well for you.

is mazdausa.com an off limits site?

Are you saying you can't link to an official Mazda USA corporate press release??

You didn't deny that you might be at some point in time (past, present or future) be thinking about the crossfire.

That makes you sound really, really guilty, but I'll leave it to the moderators to do the hanging.

LOL, he's just playing with you. Are you sure it wasn't just moved? Check your subscriptions in your User C/P and see if it is still listed. Did you see it posted or maybe get distracted (by a Crossfire of course) before you hit the Submit button?

What you are saying isn't against forum rules, unless of course there was thought of a Crossfire while you were typing ... well, then ....

I was banned for saying CROSSFIRE!! because there is a lying an hypocritical member on the board who is sensitive to that particular car. Apparently I was warned not to say crossfire, but I think I was actually warned not to get into flame fests with said member. Crossfire, to my knowledge, is not a flamefest, unless you translate it literally as a cross on fire, but that's a reach. But, it is thier sandbox, so I won't mention crossfire to said member again.

If you continue making this into a religious argument, the thread is going to get locked.
