Jump to a Page

I think there should be some option to jump to a specific page in threads, such as if there is a 35 page thread and you want to get to page 17, it takes a while to get there. If this is already possible could someone enlighten me.

That's an interesting idea. It can get kind of annoying when people reference page numbers and you have to click numbers like 98439854935 times. Gambit, good idea.

maybe at least the option where if it's a long thread, it would show every 5 page numbers, so at least you could skip that way.

if a thread is 30 pages long, it might be annoying to see the numbers 1 through 30 listed at the bottom, but maybe every 5 would be good enough?

That sounds better, or maybe even one of those boxes with the arrow on the right side. You click the arrow and you can scroll through each page number?

Don't think there is a button, but you CAN edit the URL. Change page=XX to the page you want.

Mugatu, there already is 4 numbers (2 left and 2 right) + the page you are on, which is 5 numbers...

No, no, you're misunderstanding me.

I am saying, say there is a thread that is 30 pages long. If you are on page 1, the numbers say "1, 2, 3, >, and Last". In that way, say you want to go to page 23, you'd have to hit the "last" link, and then click back 7 pages.

What I am saying is, have the numbers say "1,5,10,15,20,25,30" so you have the option to jump to any page much easier, whereas then you'd have to only click a couple pages in either direction.

And yes, you CAN directly change the URL, but that is not what this thread is about.

Good idea, but it's not functionality that's built into the forum software. I'll add it to the list of possible tweaks for the next major upgrade.

Until then, you can still edit the URL...

I never even thought about that, that's kinda neat. Learn something new everyday. Thanks Robert.
