I just realized that I left out a the key word "not" in my post. What I meant was that the Crossfire would probably sell a little better if it wasn't a Chrysler. Excuse my incompetent typing skills. Carry on.

And as sexy as the 8 is I think most people think the Crossfire is a more luxurious looking car. My guess is that it would sell better if it weren't a Chrysler.
Evokes fear? With who exactly? How old are you? Guess I’ll never understand the “pwn” crowd. Plus, who said one car is better than the next?

I saw a Metro GT with a FEAR THIS windshield tint. What are we in fear of? Driving a Metro? Also, how to you have a Metro GT? What makes it a GT? Turbo, suspension mods?

I geuss the SRT-6 will kick our 8's **** in a drag race though.

Road & Track:
While we wait, the Crossfire SRT-6 will blaze into dealerships this June as both the $45,695 automatic coupe pictured here and a $49,995 automatic convertible. Criminally, no manual is offered in the SRT-6.

We have written that the base Crossfire has eye-snaring looks and pleasing handling but an engine at least 50 horsepower short of the boiling point. The SRT mods are substantial, as is the price increase. From base Crossfire coupe to SRT-6 coupe, the extra $11,200 buys first and foremost an intercooled supercharger that wrenches another 115 horses from the 3.2-liter, 18-valve V-6. Blown, the V-6 makes 330 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, a twistability increase of 81 pound-feet. And there are only 109 more pounds of curb weight (3220 in all) for the coupe to haul.

I was responding to your unsolicited dig against the Evo/STi in saying that it doesn't evoke anything other than "economy". Even if we all agree that it looks cheap the fact you describe what a car evokes as merely what it looks like. You try and imply I'm some young kid interested in whatever car is the fastest as some sort of ego thing when you're doing the exact same thing just from a different angle. You want a car that doesn't look "cheap" and maybe I want a car that doesn't "go slow".

You're ignoring the context used, no dig here. We were talking design right? And say what you want of RX8 and Crossfire designs but atleast the designers were trying to evoke something from their design. And it looks like you're the one making unsolicited digs.

Anyways Saturn, when you gonna fess up and buy something already?? Aren't you driving a Yugo or something?

There's no way I'm guilty of digging anything. I'm the only one defending all the cars -- including the Crossfire. I like the Evo for what it is and think that it evokes plenty. How you feel about a car (or anything for that matter) isn't totally a function of how it looks.

Anyways, I have an Eclipse -- almost a Yugo. I was planning on buying an RX-8, but then I remembered I couldn't drive stick. Long story short I'll probably save up and buy a house instead. Either that or blow it all on an Evo X. We shall see.

Crossfire owners seem to love them. So there must be something good about them.

And how does someone without an 8 put on 1,481 posts?

Haha, I can see you've never met Ike huh?

I came here looking for info when I was planning on buying an 8 and then stuck around cause most of the people here aren't d-bags.

No shame with an Eclipse.

If I can offer some advice. If you gotta choose, buy a house, wait, then buy the dreamcar with equity gained. A new car is like a one night stand, they never look as good the morning after.

Not to mention that houses almost always appreciate in value.
quite unlike our 8's.

It's like that Dane Cooke bit "The friend everyone secretly hates." If you think no one in the group is a d-bag...you're probably it."
