Talking Consolidating Aliases

I've been in this forum for some time as RX-J. But as my online live grows (Other forums, XBOX Live, etc), I'm trying to consolidate a single alias. I'd like to have some flexibility towards changing your alias. Maybe having your registration defined by a different field (subscription ID, maybe?) and having everything else, including the alias, as mutable.
That would make all posts done by someone unique, even if that person decides to have terrible volatile ever changing moods, personality crisis and changes its mind about its alias... :p
Right now I had to get a new registration and will have to wait a little bit before getting the same level I had before. Not a biggie, since I wasn't a huge poster, but a nuisance nevertheless.
It's just a suggestion, as the sub-forum says!

Oh, and another suggestion:
MSN Messenger information for members! I have no stinking AOL, Yahoo or ICQ! :p

I'm not sure what you're asking, exactly, but if you pm an admin because you want a different user name, they'll usually change it for you.

I will say that it would NOT be good if people could just change their usernames at whim, because it'd be a real pain for us mods to track troublemakers- who would most likely be the ones utilizing this type of system most often.

I guess that if you had people set by ID you could still (or maybe even more easily) track them out. But it might not be worth the pain in changing the system.
And you have a point that most people wouldn't have any need for name changing, except for few cases (like mine) that could be solved contacting the guys directly.
