I can't freakin stand signatures. I really hate how they're showing up on every post now. I think before they only showed up (at least by default) if you were the one starting the thread. It makes the site harder to read. If I gave two craps about your mods I'd look at your profile.

Oh wait, can I just turn off signatures? Oh well, I needed to rant about something anyways.

It gets annoying when your signature is 3x longer than your posts. It makes it harder to read a thread when you have to scroll 50 lines down every time JohnnyBigSig posts because he lists every mod he's every read about in his signature.

Well, they can leave it off on default, like the good old days.

I know no one cares. I can just turn mine off as well. but some people actually like it you know.

Signature should not span more than 3 lines regardless of the characters limit; You may have 10 lines of signature which may only take up a few characters. It would be kinda hard to distinguish the actually message from signature.

Maybe make the signature display in a different small font? italic perhaps?

From what I understand, a signature is a tool for you to quickly identify yourselves and it should not be use to list thing in your profile. So it should be unique like a call sign that you use to sign your message and it should not be long? Then again, that's just my opinion.

I do like turning on signature display, but do hate signatures that span 5+ lines.

The other alternative is to create collapsible signature; by default, it's collapsed and it only show if you hover your mouse over or click on the signature area

the stuff in my sig is what it is.. it is to help others..

i cant say how many people pm me about something in my sig that they want to buy, or are just wondering about..

btw, my sig helps the vendors a lot...
