Not to be an insubordinate ***, but why don't the lounge posts count? I was just debating about this with RXGR8, and still wonder why they don't count. Thanks.

 

lounge posts are mostly whoring posts, so it should not be counted, not that post count matters much anyway, other than to see how much you've whored on other parts of the forum :p

 

Some are, but some aren't, and a lot of posts on the "actual" forums are "*****" posts like "lol" or something similar.

That could work too, I'm interested in how many I've made. I also want to know why they don't currently count anyway.

 

They don't count BECAUSE of the post whoring that was happening. And while we understand the concerns, because of the original problem, and the subsequent "I've got more posts than you" issues that were going on, it's probably not going to change. Kinda like the "no religious discussions" bit.

 

I'm not attempting to **** off the Moderators. Post whoring still happens elsewhere on the website and sure it can get annoying but it's really not a big deal, what's so bad about someone saying "lol"? Are they really bothering anyone? I think Abbid's suggestion was a good one. I was on the forum for a long time before I started posting. When I did start posting there were times when people brushed me away because I was a "noob" I didn't really like that. I'm also just curious to know how many posts I have in total to see how much time I waste on this forum :p I know it is the way it is and there was a reason, but could it be considered maybe to add a seperate lounge post count, that shows up in your profile or something like that? I think it makes sense our posts should relate to the RX-8 while the lounge this does happen it is rarely...it is where you go to kick back put your feet up

Technically I am I guess :D But that is not my intent. The wheel and tire forum, racing forum, general automotive don't all have everything to do with the RX8, do they? It's just something silly that I guess I just don't understand. I'm going to be fine if the Moderators say no, but this is a suggestions forum so I figured I'd make a suggestion, no harm there.

 

fair answer...I do use the post count though as a guage of time spend on the forum...when my girlfriend complains I'm not spending enough time with her I look at my post count and say 'damn she is right'

 

you know the admins can just as easily remove post count altogether from your user information displayed under your avatar...

no post count... problem solved!

Hey Aoshi, why is it so important to have Lounge posts count? Just asking.

 

I don't really care for the lounge posts counting towards posts for what this forum is; rx8 car related issues. The lounge was a great option that they decide on including. Also, I think there is a way to count your lounge posts.

Also, I don't think it's a good idea to have a separate post counter because 1.Things will look to busy as they are with avatars, sigs, locations, etc already there. 2.What is the post counter going to be named? Lounge Posts- "lounge posts" and real posts "RX8 posts"?

btw- i'm not a hater

 

A second post counter, just so people can see how much of a lounge "contributor" they are, would require custom software. Ain't gonna happen any time soon, if ever. But again, thanks for the suggestion.
