drawbacks of removing the secondary air injector???

drawbacks of removing the secondary air injector???
can anybody please educate me on this one? I did this on my FC before and I never had any problems with emission. Reason I'm asking 'cause i'm getting a trouble code and my warranty is expired plus I'm putting a header on that doesn't have a hole for the air injection pipe. I'd appreciate any info and thanks for the patience

You will get that CEL every time without the air pump.
The front O2 sensor expects a 20:1 or so A/F on cold start up when the pump is active.
