drawbacks of removing the secondary air injector???

can anybody please educate me on this one? I did this on my FC before and I never had any problems with emission. Reason I'm asking 'cause i'm getting a trouble code and my warranty is expired plus I'm putting a header on that doesn't have a hole for the air injection pipe. I'd appreciate any info and thanks for the patience :lol2:

You will get that CEL every time without the air pump.
The front O2 sensor expects a 20:1 or so A/F on cold start up when the pump is active.
