increased tail smoot post recall

I have 2005 MT with 1600 miles took in for recall yesterday had cat checked ok, updated PCM, replaced 2 leading plugs car drove fine before and I can't notice any difference now except for significant increase in tail pipe smoot. I had hardly any smoot before the updated flash. What could this mean?

the recall increases the amount of oil used by the oil meter, that smoot is just the more oil burning off.

yes, drove it 130 miles averaging 75mph. I've done the same trip before but not nearly as much smoot. I understand there is more oil being consumed with the new flash, but the consensus on this forum in the past has been that the smoot is from a rich fuel mixture. Could this new T flash dictate an even richer fuel map?

130 miles is not enough to judge imho. if you just had it flashed the ecu is still adjusting... the idle does not even stabilze for several drive cycles....

if you want to know.... clean the tips.... really good. put 1k miles on the car and decide...

btw, smoot is the combo of rich afr and oil... 75 mph still stay at stoich... at cruise... 76 gets you rich... this is with the s flash...

smoot is the nick name for the oil / unburnt fuel mix on the tail pipes.

not sure how it started, but that is what it is here.
