Want info bout turbos and SC's

Ok first of all I want Mazda Maniac and SFR's opinion on this one and anyone else who has input......I have seen alot of these turbos and sc's and whatnot puttin out 240hp or 260hp or 280hp........now from what I know a RX8 has 237 hp stock right? (or am i wrong) so why are turbos only bumping the hp up 20-40hp i mean spending 5-6k for that hp.......and what rx-8 has only 180 hp? I love cars but I'm new into the RX8's so i was wondering about them and seein if i could get a lil info bout them and turbos........I test drove one the other day and fell in love with it so I'm trying to figure out some facts about them

-thank you

stock, the car has 170-180 hp.

most turbo kits give you 80+ hp more to the wheels. 1/3rd more hp is a boost you will feel.

wheel horsepower vs flywheel/engine horsepower.

Most aftermarket companies will give you wheel numbers. The factory gives you engine numbers. (and it's more like 225hp )
