Question Rotary Crests ?

is there such thing as, regular and polished rotary crests!?? my dealer showed me the polished rotary crests today! but from the mazda-maker website, the rotary crests doesn't have the word polished in it and are cheaper than the ones my dealer is trying to sell me! i just want to know if there are two types to choose from, or they're all the same!

In Japan and Europe i've seen two different kinds referred to as "polished" and "brushed".

As far as I know, in the US, we only get the the "chrome" looking ones (I guess those would be the polished). As for Canada, I don't know what kind of choice you have, if any.

The is only one part number for each in the accessory brochure.
Front: F151-V4-350F
Rear: F151-V4-030F

No XX or anything, like with the body parts that come in multiple colours.

Polished and Brushed

I got my brushed front crest (similar to rims) today from Japan. We can only get polished in Canada.

My rear fog light assembly came too- but the instructions came in Japanese, and it involves installing a CPU!! Its a crazy huge kit! I think I got a good deal! Anyway, I hope someone can install it (cause I'm sure not going to go near trying this one!!!)

Other goodies too......<<drooling>>

Umm....I got brushed from my dealer....front and back. I didn't specify one or the other, just ordered front and rear rotary crests, and the brushed is what came in.

What dealer are you using?

PS- I'm sure you already know, but you can't use the rear crest and rear fog light at the same time, it's one or the other.

Brushed is nice on Silver

The brushed crest is on and looks great on my Silver GT with roof. The mazdaspeed spoiler looks good too. I think polished would look great on all of the other colours. It seems to pull the lines to a unified point, and forms a big rotor shape with the 2 head rest rotors seen through the front window. I thought the rear fog light did that for the rear too (and is very useful in our climate). A rotor would look good there too, but I think polished would be better on anything but silver (match the emblems, rather than the rims). Its either emblem or light back there, and I chose light. Still not installed....need english instructions.

Anyone noiced the little rotor indents in the headlights?

There is a bright chrome version and a duller version, similar tone to the wheels.
F151V 4030 Rear Rotor (triangle) Emblem silver Pol. Alum
F151V 4350 Front Rotor (triangle) Emblem bright Pol. Alum

Both are available in japan.
Japanese list price is 7,000 Yen, about $85 Canadian/$60 US

4 weeks ago, I didn't know there was two types available - I went to the dealer and asked for the front and rear crests, got home and found that they'd given me a brushed front one and a polished rear one! (I'll bet the dealer didn't realize there were two versions of each either) I decided I liked them that way, so didn't bother trying to get one changed. :D

Regards,
Gordon
