Need tires

Hey guys, My stock potenzas are literally almost gone, I'm now worried to even drive in light rain or rain at all for that matter. The problem is, I didn't know I needed new tires til' recently.

So I have some money saved for prom, and a summer vacation which I can use I suppose. So i'd like to know, this is probably a repost, but whats the cheapest tires for the 8? I speed rarely, I just need tires. I'm located in NJ but its spring here so I don't need any type of tires to last in the winter. Thanks alot, All opionions will be a great help.

The BFG Geforce line, might be the best bargain for your dollar, not the KDW or KDW2's but the "sport".

that tire doesn't seem to come in the stock size, and at the +0 size, is $130. There are tires out there for less. and since the OP sounds like a student, every dollar counts.

go with the Kumho Ecsta SPT. in the stock size (225/45/18), it is $95 (plus shipping, unless you find it someplace local). it is the least expensive tire out there, and it is a very good tire.

I agree. I just bought the ECSTA and am very happy with them.

I got the 245/40 size at $125 from TireRack, x4 plus shipping, plus mounting at a local Goodyear, about $660 total. She might find them even lower from a local high volume dealer who does the mount/balance themselves.

TireRack shows a couple of good Avon tires also, one in summer high performance, one in all-season high-performance (M500 and M550, I think).

the SPT sounds like a very good choice for you. shouldn't be disappointed.

I went with the SPT's I live about 1 minute away from NJ, I'm in PA so they will be good, just make sure you pick up a pair of snow tires before winter hits unless you are garaging her for the winter.

Thanks alot everyone. Kumho Ecsta SPT seems thats the best I'm going to get and it's a very fair price. I will be buying them this week or probably next week. Thanks again!

I just had my ECSTA's installed yesterday. I ordered them from Tirerack.com. You can see pics here in this thread. I decided to go with 245/40's instead of the stock size.
