clear bra questions
has anyone here ever had a clear bra put on the 8 soon after a repaint? If so, has it affected the paint in anyway? I heard that we're suppose to wait at least 3 weeks for the paint to cure before putting on a clear bra.
Thanks in advance,
Danny

Danny, this was one of the questions I asked when I inquired about the clear bra. I was told one should wait at least 3-4 months after painting to apply the clear bra.
I also ran across a similar quote on another website. I'll see if I can find it again.

Well of course now I can't find the original quote but here's what 3M says.

Answer:
Yeah I know, not much help.
Question:
Will the paint smear if Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film is applied over a newly painted vehicle?
The paint on a newly painted vehicle must be cured according to manufacturer's recommendations. Your body shop should be able to provide you with this information.
Yeah I know, not much help.

I don't remember who but "olddragger" or "eyeball fixer" I think has had the clear bra installed already. They might be able to answer more of your questions better than I could. I still haven't decided if I should to get it put on mine yet or not.

thanks guys. can't get a daily driver...cuz i'm 18 and don't have money for another car.
I just got my front back from repaint, but I'm now willing to wait 3 weeks. Much less of a hassle that continuously getting it repainted every 3 months.
