Like the 2006 Explorer/Mountaineer models, this 2007MY Navigator shares almost all of its sheetmetal with its predecessor. Hence most changes to the exterior are in the front fascia, headlamps/tail-lamps, and trim. You have to remember that when most of the work was being done on these models, SUVs were still selling well and Ford had a recipe that was working great with nearly all of its SUVs. The idea was "Why mess with a design theme that is selling great and bringing in lots of money?". Ford's SUV styling hadn't changed in many years, but that didn't seem to steer people clear. The sharp rise in oil prices that we've seen is the primary reason for the decline in sales of Ford's SUVs. As much as many of the domestic-bashers on here would like to believe, the styling is not the problem. Nobody wants a 12-mpg behemoth right now when oil prices are $2.30-$3.00 per gallon.
PS: I actually like the styling on this vehicle. It's more subdued than an Escalade, but enough to get noticed.

I think another major problem is the main grill looking similar to when you pull back someone's lips real far when they have their teeth clenched so you can see their gums and all. It doesn't help that they extend that stupid central bar into the headlights - that's stupid. Oh well, I better get used to it, I'm going to be seeing tons more of these hideous beasts in the near future.

Here is my pathetic attempt with MSP. IMO it looks a lot better with the lower grill and fog lamp bezels blacked-out. I tried to remove that chrome thing on the hood too.
