Stock Tires / Winter / NO Snow...
How are the stock tires during the winter if there isnt any snow on the ground? In other words, I will be getting a rental from work, but I dont wanna put my car away for good. I want to be able to drive it during the winter, provided all the snow is plowed away. Do the stock tires have problems warming up properly with the cold winter temps (Im in Massachusetts). We have to deal with black ice, but tires dont matter at that point. I live in Atlanta, but my work is up here for the next year. It makes no sense for me to invest money in winter tires for this season if I can get a rental for free, but I still wanna take my 8 out on weekends during the winter if the streets are clear
yea the car is fine to drive in winter if the road is cleared of wet/icy stuff
just know that the traction of the tires will be noticeably less compared to during warm seasons, drive as appropriate to available traction, and you'll be fine

I drove thru a couple days of at least a couple inches of slush and snow last year. Car was a bit jittery...but otherwise managable thanks to the TCS/DSC. W/o those, the car wouldn't go very well at all.
OEM Dunlops, btw.

^^ Me too...rubber gets really hard at low temperatures. By freezing..they are like skates.
Snow tires..or good all seasons are a must unless you are just puttering to the store.

thanks for the info. In Massachusetts, it definitely gets way below freezing. Hell its been in the 30's this week already. I will probably just use it to get around town during the winter, just so it gets some use. Definitely not doing road trips with it. Hopefully the potenzas will hold
