When you figure that one out, let the rest of us know. I recently put my front plate back on due to being pulled over a few too many times because of it.

Search the DIY section for "Front plate". There's two DIYs: one is Evo-style side mount (which is what I did), the other is a 1" lowering of the front plate, to reduce the "bugs bunny" tooth effect.

You may also get away with having the plate in your dash.

Its required in Colorado but so far after a year I have not been pulled over but I really feel quilty when a cop car passes me or is in front of me. It's nerve racking but so far its not there. I have the plastic front plate holder and the plate in the trunk. But I am not sure how it fits on there anymore. LOL I have seen about 11 RXs in Colorado so far and several are without and some have it. So I can't tell what most owners are doing in Colorado. My son has a Monte Sports GM with the flame stickers on front and and he drives his car everyday without a front tag and has got away with it so far. There are some areas or cities that have photo radar at the red lights for red light runners and speeders and so the police there will pull you over without a front tag but I stay away from Boulder anyway.

I had mine off for over a year and luckily never got pulled over. Although it's illegal in my state, the cops here are a little loose about the front plate. But it's still unsettling whenever I'm behind or in close proximity to the police.

I recently came up with a solution that I'm happy with. I got a slightly tinted clear cover for the plate and tinted it a little darker. The look is dark grey, but the license plate numbers are still very viewable. However, the over all look just blends with the black grill.

So from a distance the license plate is hardly noticable. Similar to the GT4 image attached below.

Can you post a real photo? This sounds interesting, although still illegal.

I used the $1.49 bracket from AutoZone method. It also helps if you have access to a sheet metal roller. I shaped mine so it didn't stick out from the grill work down there.

Covers maybe illegal in Texas, I'm not sure about it here in Hawaii. But at least there's a plate on so it will attract less attention.

Here are two photos of my car, both with the front plate + a tinted clear cover. As you can see from a distance, it's hardly noticable. Up close, one can clearly see the license plate. The tint isn't as dark as it seems to be in the pics.

I live in Northern VA, and I've had my front plate off for about 2 months now. In the DC area, there are a lot of people from different states who keep their state tags (they can do that if they're in the military) and some of those states have only one tag. So far no problems.
