official dragon 05 afterthread

This is your reporter in the field Feras reporting from a steak n shake in richmond kentucky.

The dragon rocked, it was awesome meeting all the new people, saying hi to the old people, and getting drunk with both.

To simplify id say pretty much everyone had a good time.

Me personally in just a few words: I raced my car, I white water rafted, i got drunk, i won the poker tournament, i raced some more, i did a 12 minute night dragon run, i got drunk some more, i went horseback riding, tried to finish the liquor, and gott back on the road .

Till next year!
This is feras reporting and returning to the road north

You left out "I won some prizes, got drunk, drank DaveT's coffee, peeled some rubber off my tires" part.

Glad you're safe so far.

And, I might add, that due to the generosity of our sponsors we didn't have to spend any money on prizes. That, plus an auction at the banquet Saturday night resulted in a donation to the Red Cross for Katrina victims of over $600.......

So where's all the pictures??

Here's one I took today at the Buffalo Bills game... :D

Oh yeah.....visit this place too. Did you know if you cross the border at Niagara Falls going in to Canada, it's free. Coming back to the USA costs you 50 cents though....

Let me just say.....

We had an AWESOME TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was great finally putting some faces with some names. And I must say that Feras's accounts of the weekend are very accurate. I plan on posting all of my pictures and Christina will be putting together all of the footage from the week. I will also post a lot more detail tomorrow on the week, pretty tired from the LONG drive home!

But for now, I really want to say THANK YOU to everyone who came. The meet went PERFECTLY and I wouldn't change a thing!

Until tomorrow.....

This event went off without a hitch thanks to all of the awesome particpants and all of the sponsors. I can't think of a single thing that we would have changed. There were planned activities (Show and Shine, Dragon Run, Banquet, Cookout, Raffle drawing, etc) and many unplanned ones (DRAGON NIGHT RUN, oh the drinking, poker game (damn you Feras), drinking some more, bon fire, Smores, and this not so friendly cliff outside one of the cabins...)

I can honestly say this was one of the best vacations I have ever had!!!

Here is a summary of my experience:
Tuesday/Wednesday: Left at 2am, took the long senic tour, ran into some traffic and some road construction arrived at Fontana around 2pm on Wednesday. Unpacked the 8, which could not have held another box. Then it was on to stuffing everyone's goody bag (which included a 1:43 scale RX-8 Model car, Mazdasport Magazine, Borla material, stickers, a Borla Hat, Suntrust Koozies, DPE discount coupons, and some other things I can't remember). Everyone began arriving and everyone recieved a Goody Bag, T-Shirt and information packet. OOppsss damn that cliff out side DaveT's cabin, it was wayyyyyy too dark. (Wait for the video and you will get a good laugh)

Thursday: White Water Rafting with me, Christina, Feras, Brian (epitrichoid) and Carolyn. Only one casualty, Carolyn getting launched out of the raft. Then the first DRAGON RUN, what a way to kick off the week. Time to Drink after that and then some Poker! Damn you Feras for taking everyones money except mine HAHAHA.

Friday: 2nd Annual BOTD Car Wash thanks to Fontana Village for their awesome hospitality for setting this up for us. 1st Annual BOTD Show and Shine, went off without a hitch!! And we got a ton of awesome pics to show. Time for another Dragon Run. The banquet was great, Brian can cook up some mean burgers and hot dogs. Wait ANOTHER Dragon run, this time at Night (you will have to wait for the video on this one too!) And now more drinking!

Saturday: Some horse back riding and then the banquet! TONS of raffle prizes given out. Every participant got a prize and every 8 owner got a big prize ($50 or more). And guess what MORE DRINKING!!

All in all a PERFECT week. See below for some teaser pictures.

I made it home about 11:30 last night. THANK YOU ORGANIZERS!!

I had a great time and it was really nice to meet everybody.

Damn, what a road that was. I have never, ever had to turn my head 180 degrees in order to follow the center line around a curve. I'm still in awe at the speeds we did through there, especially the last night run - eh Matt? What a rush!

I gave up tracking the gas, but I can tell you I burned almost an entire tank between the Skyway drive and the last night run. I think my low fuel light came on the next morning around 203 miles.

I'll definately be back next year with all of you and any potential newcomers. Now, I need to go figure out why I'm burning oil, the external kind

Thanks again to all for a memorable weekend.

Almost totally forgot about little Derek losing his breakfast after his father took him for a run. The evil grin on Dave's face as he told the story was priceless.

Brad, absolutely that was one kick *** ride. Being the driver versus being the passenger is a completely different experience.

Glad you and Shari made it home safe, it was nice to meet you.
