My quest for gauges in the 8......

O.K. Here is the deal. RX-8's have the most worthless gauges in the world other then the fuel level. So this is what I cam up with!

Dont want to get fancy and wanted to keep it some what similar to stock appearance. So this is what I got............................

I'm doing Defi BF gauges for Oil Temp, Oil pressure and water pressure. Custom fiberglass enclosure with individual pods, a la mazdaspeed or 350z. Hope to have it done soon.

that's what i have Blue...except the Oil Pressure and Temp are mounted on a two guage CF A-Pillar pod...

are you using the A-RF oil block from JapanParts?..that thing makes install go SOOO easy...

I haven't figured yet where to mount the other gauges...so far I don't like the looks of anyone's config on top of the dash...i rather leave that undisturbed...I'm thinking of integrating the boost, EGR, and H20 temp gauges in with the center bezel for the radio...so much work and WAY to little time though.......

Why did you have to buy the center dash piece? Why not just use the original one with your 8? How did you fasten the pods on top of the dash?

the oil block is extremely rare and hard to come by...the one from japanparts is sold here in the US for less:

http://www.mazdaparts.com/ProductDet...000-1121472000

takes the confusion and risk out of getting oil pressure data.

Well if I ever sell the damn car I will be able to go back to stock very easy. I cut small slots to accept the pod tabs.

i think you see the price diffrance because i have included the shipping from Japan.. JP.Com is just stating the price of the part.. Order it and add at least 25.00 for ems shipping to the USA.
